In recent developments, Nissan finally introduced the 7th Gen Nissan Patrol 2025. The iconic model has been waiting for about 14 years for an update, and Nissan finally revealed the upcoming new-gen Patrol. According to reports, the vehicle will go live for sale later in 2024. The vehicle is codenamed as Y63.
Earlier, the Y62 didn’t get its launch in India. Now when it comes to the Y63, it holds the potential to compete against models like the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 in India, thus hinting at a possible India launch as well.
The SUV provides the option of various terrain modes, which include Standard, Sand, Rock, Mud, Eco, and Sport.
Now, let’s have a look at some of the new features and specifications that came to light after the reveal.
Design:
- The new-gen Patrol will bring a fresh look along with it, which is more angular and rugged. The vehicle sits on a boxier silhouette, which enhances its off-road qualities.
- The SUV features a wide, piano black grille, vertically aligned headlamps with an E-shaped LED DRL pattern, and a thin chrome bar that connects the headlamps on the front.
- Furthermore, the front bumper features design elements from the Ranger Rover and includes a horizontally positioned air dam.
- The SUV also has a fresher look on its side profile. The side profile is a culmination of angular and rounded surfaces. It also features a large glasshouse, thus underlining its full-sized SUV stature.
- On the rear, the vehicle has an upright tailgate with round edges. It also features tail lamps which are vertically positioned and connected by a horizontal LED light bar. Additionally, it includes a tall rear bumper with unique faux aluminum inserts.
The Interior:
- The cabin accommodates three rows of seats. These are laid with soft-touch materials, faux brushed aluminum trim, and multiple upholstery options, which change according to the variants.
- The interior features two 14.3-inch displays. One of them caters to the infotainment screen, while the other is the digital instrument cluster.
- The traditional gear selector is replaced with a set of buttons on the center console. These are placed beneath the HVAC controls.
- The vehicle also includes a rotary selector for terrain modes. This is placed next to the HVAC controls. One can easily operate them even with gloves on.
- The top variants feature up to 12-speaker Klipsch sound system, rear entertainment screens, and a range of convenience features like wireless charging, USB-C ports in all rows a head-up display, and gesture control for the entertainment system.
In terms of power, a 3.5L twin-turbocharged V6 engine powers the new Patrol. It is capable of delivering up to 425 HP and 700 Nm of torque. Additionally, a 9-speed automatic gearbox is paired with the engine. It comes with a full-time four-wheel drive.
Additionally, an off-road-focused Pro-4X variant of the Patrol was also introduced by the company. However, initially, this will only target the North American market. This variant would feature 20-inch all-terrain tires, adaptive air suspension, a metal skid plate, and a rear electronic-locking differential.
