This year, we saw Xiaomi introducing the Redmi Pad SE 8.7″(Redmi Pad SE 4G in India) tablet and it seems a new Redmi-branded small-sized tablet may also be launched soon by the brand. Some of its possible specs have also been revealed.

New Redmi Small-Sized Tablet in Works?

This update comes from the Chinese tipster Smart Pikachu and via his Weibo post, he has revealed that a new Redmi tablet is under works by Xiaomi, and this device would possibly be featuring a small form factor design, small flat display screen, MediaTek’s Dimensity processor, and have better battery efficiency.

While nothing else has been shared, including the moniker of this upcoming device, the tipster has used the hashtag – ‘#Redmi K80’. This could mean that this Redmi-branded small-sized tablet maybe launched alongside the Redmi K80 series smartphones, however, this is just an assumption and we may have to wait until more updates arrive.

Speaking of the Redmi K80 series, it is said to include two devices – Redmi K80 and Redmi K80 Pro, and both these sub-flagship devices are expected to make their debut next month in November 2024 in the Chinese market ahead of all other sub-flagship devices from other brands with competitive price points. The vanilla Redmi K80 is said to come equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, whereas the Redmi K80 Pro smartphone will probably be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. Unlike the previous Redmi K-series devices which were all China exclusives, the new Redmi K80 series sub-flagships are revealed to come to global markets too as per reports.

Vivo unveiled its S19 series smartphones in the Chinese market in the month of May 2024 and it seems that the brand will soon be launching the successors. The upcoming S20 smartphone from Vivo has now appeared on China’s TENAA database, revealing many of its key specs.

Vivo S20 – TENAA Certification

As per the TENAA listing, Vivo’s S20 smartphone, bearing the model number – ‘V2429A’, is revealed to have a dimension of 160.35 x 74.18 x 7.19 mm and weighs 185.5 gm. It will be a 5G device with 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G network connectivity. Bluetooth and USB connectivity will also be supported on the device.

Regarding the processor, it is mentioned to be an octa-core chipset (likely Snapdragon 7 Gen 3) with 2.63 GHz primary clock speed, and would be offered in 8GB/12GB/16GB RAM options and 128GB/256GB/512GB/1TB storage choices. The device will use the Android operating system

Its display is revealed to be an AMOLED screen with 6.67″ size, 2800 x 1260 pixels resolution, and 1073.74 million color depth. On the camera side, 50MP + 8MP dual rear camera setup, and for selfies, a 50MP front-facing camera is also mentioned to be present.

About the battery, the listing suggests that a 6365 mAh rated (probably silicon) battery is going to be backed within. This could be a 6500 mAh typical battery. Other specs revealed include the gravity sensor, distance sensor, light sensor, infrared sensor, face recognition, and under-display (optical) fingerprint scanner.

Apart from the above mentioned specs and details, nothing much is known regarding the S20 smartphone yet. The S20 series based on certain reports are said to have its launch in the month of November or December 2024, and maybe we could be hearing more updates about the upcoming series in a few weeks. The latest iQOO flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite smartphone – iQOO 13 is officially debuting in the Chinese market this month and now, the official launch in India has also been teased. Ahead of the China debut, the performance, display, and battery specs of the upcoming device have been teased as well.

This update has been officially shared by iQOO India CEO – Nipun Marya, and he in his X/Twitter post has teased the next iQOO smartphone that will be arriving in the Indian market following the iQOO 9 Pro(Snapdragon 8 Gen 1), iQOO 11(Snapdragon 8 Gen 2), and iQOO 12(Snapdragon 8 Gen 3) flagships. With the hints given, the next iQOO smartphone will be the iQOO 13 device which is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. It is possible that an official confirmation regarding the launch date may be shared soon after the China debut this month, or likely around the same time.

Regarding the teased specs, the iQOO 13 device has now been confirmed to equip itself with the Q2 performance chip, feature BOE’s Q10 display, and be backed by a 6150 mAh battery with 120W wired fast charging feature.

In China, the iQOO 13 smartphone will be launched by the end of this month and the pre-booking is currently live. The packaging box of the upcoming device was also shared online recently revealing that this time too we will be seeing the BMW M Motorsport Edition of the iQOO flagship. Both the front and rear panel design of the iQOO 13 smartphone was also shared in the past few days.

Speaking about its other expected/revealed key specs, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, 16GB LPDDR5x RAM, 1TB UFS 4.0 storage, OriginOS 5(in China), 50MP Sony IMX921 primary camera, 50MP Samsung ISOCELL JN1 ultrawide camera, 50MP Sony IMX826 2x telesphoto camera, PD charging, USB 3.x, single-point ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and an IP68-rated dust and water resistant body can be expected.

OPPO’s latest Find X8 series is nearing its launch date and just a few days ahead of it, the brand has again teased a few more specifications of the upcoming smartphones. The teaser posters now shared reveals some of the battery and performance specs of the Find X8 series.

As per the new poster images, the Find X8 Pro smartphone will be packing a 5910 mAh larger new generation glacier battery with 18% improved battery backup and 13% reduced thickness. The battery is teased to be capable of recording three concerts in a row using Dolby Vision HDR video recording feature, for up to 7.2 hours. Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Max in comparison is said to last only for 5 hours. To add, in -20°C temperature too, the Find X8 Pro can record Dolby Vision HDR videos for up to 5.3 hours, and on the other hand, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will get logged out automatically after 10 minutes.

Users of the Find X8 Pro will also be able to watch about 36 episodes of popular TV shows in one go, and the device would last about 29.3 hours with a single charge, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max may only offer 27.7 hours of battery life.

Coming to the performance specs, along with the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor, it has also been teased or confirmed that OPPO’s Tidal Engine will also be present in the Find X8 series. With both the MediaTek flagship Dimensity 9400 processor and the brand’s Tidal Engine, peak level of performance and better battery efficiency is assured.

OPPO will be holding a product launch conference in China on the 24th of October 2024 and will be unveiling its Find X8 series smartphones. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition – Unveiled in South Korea

Samsung introduced its Galaxy Z Fold 6 smartphone back in the month of July 2024 and it has been quite some time since we have been hearing about the upcoming special edition model. As mentioned, it is in the brand’s home market in South Korea that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition has been unveiled and there are a lot of upgrades when compared with the standard edition that was launched previously.

Firstly about the design, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 features a new striped design at its rear and comes in a ‘Black Shadow’ color choice. The thickness and weight of the special edition model has been reduced by 1.5mm/0.7mm and 3gm, bringing the thickness and weight of the device to 10.6mm(folded)/4.9(unfolded) and 236 gm. Also to note, from the pill-shaped rear camera module, the special edition has a rectangular-shaped camera module with rounded edges.

The display has been enlarged from the standard edition. While the standard edition has a 7.6″ foldable main display and 6.3″ cover display, the special edition model offers a larger 8″ foldable main display(20:18 aspect ratio) and 6.5″ larger cover display.

On the camera side, from the 50MP primary camera, the newly introduced Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition sports a 200MP primary shooter too. Moreover, to offer better performance, the special edition has a 16GB higher RAM option, while the standard edition only has 12GB RAM.

In total, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition is the thinnest and lightest Galaxy Z Fold line-up model with the widest foldable main display and largest cover display. Also, it is the first time that a Galaxy Z Fold series device has arrived featuring a 200MP primary camera and a 16GB higher RAM option.

Price and Availability 

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition is priced at KRW 2,789,600 (~ INR 1,70,852), and will be available for purchase from the 25th of October 2024 in South Korea via Samsung’s official website and through major mobile carriers. Tecno, the Chinese consumer electronics maker, unveiled its very first tablet device – the MegaPad 10 in late August 2024 and its next tablet model – the MegaPad 11 has now made its appearance on the Google Play Console and FCC databases. Some of its key specifications, as well as the rear panel schematic image, have also been revealed via its listings.

Tecno MegaPad 11 – Google Play Console and FCC Listings

On both the Google Play Console and FCC databases, the upcoming MegaPad 11 tablet from Tecno has been spotted with the model number – ‘T1101’, and the Google Play Console listing confirms its moniker. Speaking more, on the Google Play Console database, it is the 8GB RAM model of the device that has been listed, and the key specs revealed include the Android 14 operating system, MediaTek MT8781V/CA processor (Helio G99), 2.20 GHz primary clock speed, ARM Mali G57 GPU, 1200 x 1920 pixels resolution, and 280 PPI pixel density.

Coming to the FCC listing, the upcoming tablet has been certified with FCC ID – ‘2ADYY-T1101’, and we can find an 8GB/256GB storage variant for the MegaPad 11 on the FCC database. It has also been mentioned on the database that the tablet will pack an 8000 mAh lithium polymer battery and is to ship with a charging adapter bearing model number – ‘U180TSA’, meaning that the device would be supporting an up to 18W wired fast charging feature.

Regarding the revealed schematic image, it aligns with the previously shared render images of the device, featuring the dual tone rear panel and the vertical rectangular-shaped camera module with two circular camera units at the top-left corner of the rear panel.

Looking at other previous updates, Tecno’s MegaPad 11 with the same model number of T1101 was also spotted on IMEI and the European EEC(with moniker listed) databases. Also, the expected specifications of the tablet were also shared online.

Other than the specs mentioned above, users may also expect specifications like a 11″ FHD+ 90Hz display, 13MP rear camera, 5MP selfie camera, up to 8GB virtual RAM (with 8GB inbuilt RAM), 128GB/256GB internal storage options, 4G network connectivity, Tecno AI, Dolby Atmos, about 500 gm weight, and Blue and Green color choices.

As the Tecno MegaPad 11 tablet has made it to both the Google Play Console and FCC, along with the previous IMEI and EEC listings, we probably won’t have to wait longer for the launch and it can be expected anytime soon. Vivo had unveiled its latest X200 series smartphones in its home market a week back and the official sale began two days before in the country for the X200 and X200 Pro models. Following the commencement of the official sale, the brand has rolled out new software updates for its X200 and X200 Pro flagships. In related news, Vivo has also announced that its omni-channel sales of X200 series have exceeded CNY 2 billion.

X200 and X200 Pro – Major Software Updates

The new updates for the X200 and X200 Pro smartphones bring certain improvements to the devices with respect to the Small V Search function and camera performance. For the vanilla X200 smartphone, the update has a firmware version of ‘PD2415_A_15.0.15.17.W10.V000L1’ and has a size of 2.02 GB. The X200 Pro update has firmware version – ‘PD2405B_A_15.0.15.11.W10.V000L1’, with a size of 1.17 GB.

About the changelogs, in terms of the Small V Search function, users of the two devices will be able to long press the screen or system navigation to easily access it. In the X200 smartphone, with the update, a new large model image quality enhancement algorithm will be added to make telephoto photography better. Optimizations have also been brought to improve clarity of camera during video call in third-party applications, to improve video stabilization in movie mode, and to improve the smoothness while switching between different camera modes.

In the X200 Pro device too, as mentioned, the brand has added the function of long pressing the screen or system navigation to easily access Small V Search, along with camera improvements such as added ‘More’ option to jump between shooting scenes, front and rear camera optimizations, Dolby Vision optimizations, and optimizations for color and focus clarity in rear portrait, telephoto, stage, and landscape modes. It can thus be understood that the two updates are mainly to improve the camera functions and offer a better flagship level camera performance.

Also, just to add, in the community page, a user of the X200 Pro smartphone has pointed out that in his particular piece, glue has overflowed towards the edges of the device. To his reply, another user revealed that his model doesn’t have any such issues, however, he adds that the in-hand feel of the device is a bit uncomfortable. Again, it seems that in the offline stores, BOE display models were made available, while in the online stores, the Visionox versions are being sold. In comparison, the Visionox models are criticized as they don’t meet the expectations of users and is being considered as a failure.

X200 Series – Sale Exceeds CNY 2 Billion

Now coming to the sales report, as per what Vivo has officially revealed via its Weibo handle, the X200 series sale through all platforms together has exceeded CNY 2 billion, breaking all previous smartphone sale records in Vivo’s history. Another thing to note is that, this was reported as of on the 19th of October 2024 at 10 AM local time in China, one hour after the official sale began for X200 and X200 Pro devices in China.

Apart from the X200 and X200 Pro models, Vivo’s X200 series also has a third device – the X200 Pro mini. The official sale for the X200 Pro mini will be starting four days later, on the 25th of October 2024, at 9 AM local time in China.

Very recently, the Galaxy A36 5G became the talk of the tech sphere with its Geekbench listing and its render images and 360° video. The performance specs and the design language of the upcoming smartphone is out and one of the most notable aspects of the device is its whole new revamped camera module.

Now, just a day later, an image revealing a closer look at the new rear camera module bump has been shared (thanks to @OnLeaks).

Samsung Galaxy A36 5G – A Closer Look at its Rear Camera Module Bump

As mentioned, with the recently shared render images and 360° video, the Galaxy A36 5G was revealed to feature a pill shaped rear camera module with three camera sensors placed in a vertical manner, and this is a revamped design when compared to Samsung’s other models that are all having vertically placed three individual camera modules.

Looking at the newly shared camera module image, we are able to understand that there is a slight camera bump at the rear, and a little portion at the top of the camera module is projected outwards again, while the bottom part appears to be drawn inwards. It is possible that Samsung may have adopted this design in order to effectively place the camera sensors inside the camera module, at the same time reduce the space where it is not needed.

Regarding the other design aspects, more or less, it remains similar to other Galaxy smartphones, and notably, the right side panel bump housing the volume rocker and power button is also present. Do note that the recent A-series smartphones such as the Galaxy A15 5G, Galaxy A25 5G, Galaxy A35 5G, and Galaxy A55 5G all have this ride side panel bump.

Coming to the Geekbench listing, when compared to its predecessor, it is unfortunate that the performance of the upcoming Galaxy A36 5G is very low. It is also being said that the device could be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 or Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset. The primary clock speed of the processor is revealed to be 2.40 GHz, and a 6GB RAM variant can be expected for the device.

It is possible that more updates are probably on its way and with the newer updates, more about the smartphone and its specs will be revealed. Samsung previously has always released the predecessors of the Galaxy A56 5G in the month of March every year. So, we can assume that this time too, Samsung may release it in the month of March 2025, or if we are lucky, before that.

Honor’s Magic 7 series is set to have its debut in the Chinese market this month and very recently, the possible rear panel design images of the two upcoming devices were shared online. Just a day later, the real-life images of the Magic 7 series smartphones have been revealed along with its packaging box. Also, the storage options and color choices for the devices have also been tipped.

Honor Magic 7 Series – Real Life Images and Tipped Storage Options and Color Choices

Early in the month of September itself, we came across the real life image of the Magic 7 Pro device, revealing its front display, and looking at the real life image of the display now shared, it perfectly aligns with each other. Design specs such as the slightly curved display and the centrally-aligned pill-shaped cutout (seemingly with two camera lenses) can be seen in the latest images too.

Coming to the rear panel, even if the rear panel design images that were shared before have some similarities, the camera unit has a few differences when it comes to the real life images. We can spot the Magic 7 series device in two colors – Black and Grey. The camera module is in an octagonal shape with silver/gray border highlights. There are four internal circular modules with three of them carrying camera sensors. One of them is a periscope telephoto lens as well. There is also an LED flash strip placed in a vertical manner at the top of the camera module. Honor branding can be seen at the bottom part of the rear panel.

The packaging box is in Black color with ‘Honor’ and ‘MagicOS’ markings on it.

Regarding the tipped storage options and color choices, as per what has been shared by tipster Digital Chat Station, the vanilla Magic 7 device is said to have 512GB and 1TB storage models, with Gold, White, Black, Blue, and Gray color ways. The Magic 7 Pro smartphone on the other hand will likely be available in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options, and in White, Black, Blue, and Gray colors.

Honor will be officially releasing its MagicOS 9.0 on the 23rd of October 2024 and following which, the Magic 7 series smartphones will officially be debuted on the 30th of October 2024 in China. Some of its expected key specs include Qualcomm Snpadragon 8 Elite processor, 50MP (Omnivision OV50H, main) + 50MP (Sony IMX882, periscope telephoto) + 50MP/200MP (Samsung HP3 ) triple rear camera unit, 1.5K (standard model) and 2K (pro model) OLED displays, 5800 mAh battery (for pro model), 100W wired charging, 66W wireless charging (for pro model), IP68/IP69-rated body, and ultrasonic fingerprint reader. Satellite connectivity support is also expected on the pro model.

As the launch date is confirmed, the brand may be teasing its upcoming Magic 7 series smartphones in the coming days, and with their launch, the full specifications can be confirmed. Do stay tuned until then.

OPPO will soon be unveiling its Find X8 series flagship devices in its home market in China and later globally, and the global variants of the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro smartphones with model numbers – ‘CPH2651’ and ‘CPH2659’ respectively have already appeared on many global certification databases. Just a few days ahead of the Find X8 series debut, the Find X8 Pro Global model has again made it to a certification platform.

OPPO Find X8 Pro Global Variant – GCF Certification

As mentioned, the Find X8 Pro global variant has been listed on the GCF certification platform with the same model number of ‘CPH2659’, and it has been certified on the 15th of October 2024, with the GCF reference number – ‘12536’. The GCF certification database also points out that the Find X8 Pro global variant will support 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G network connectivity.

Other than the GCF certification, the Find X8 Pro has also received the BIS, IMDA, EEC, and SDPPI certifications. Just to add, the Chinese variant appeared on AnTuTu, Geekbench, and 3C databases. Also in the Indian market, the device is said to be Indian-made and we exclusively revealed that it will be offered in a 16GB/512GB storage option with an expected launch around the end of this month.

The spec sheet of the Find X8 series devices was leaked a few days back, and it is revealed that the Find X8 Pro will be powered by the Dimensity 9400 chipset, is to have the ColorOS 15 custom skin, may have four storage models (12GB/512GB, 16GB/512GB, 16GB/1TB, and 16GB/1TB Satellite Edition), 50MP (LYT800, wide) + 50MP (LYT600, periscope telephoto, 3x zoom) + 50MP (IMX858, periscope telephoto, 6x zoom) + 50MP (JN5, ultrawide) quad rear camera unit, 32MP (IMX615) front-facing camera, 5910 mAh battery backup, and 80W wired and 50W wireless fast charging features.

With its China debut on the 24th of October 2024, the full specifications of the device can be confirmed. Along with the Find X8 series smartphones, the brand will also be releasing several of its new charging accessories too in the Chinese market.
