BSNL Karnataka Achieves Milestone With 501 4G Sites, Under 4G Saturation Project

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited Karnataka Circle has achieved a milestone of 501 4G sites on air as part of its 4G saturation and phase 9.2 project. This update has been shared by the BSNL Karnataka X handle. BSNL is aiming to cover rural uncovered areas where no other company has been able to provide the coverage. The government-run telecom company BSNL is on its way to attracting subscribers who are not happy with the increased tariff.

Recently the Union minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia visited the Delhi-based CDOT campus where he reviewed the enablement of BSNL 5G calls.

A few days back Department of Telecom also shared an image of a 5G enabled BSNL SIM card thus hinting company’s plan to soon launch the 5G network coverage.

Reports say that it might take up to next year for the company to provide access to 4G coverage to all. Recently Union Minister for Communications said that under the Atmanirbhar Bharat, a 4G network with indigenous technology is ready and its services will be available across the nation through the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) in a few months.

When he was asked about the reason behind this delay he said “Several people had asked when Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone rolled out the 4G network, why not BSNL? It was the prime minister’s resolution that if we have to develop a government-run company’s network, we will not use equipment from China or any other foreign country,”.
