NSIL and Arianespace signs MoU to maintain long-term partnership to meet Global commercial satellite launch needs
On 29 January 2024, NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) and French satellite launch company Arianespace signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), to maintain a long-term partnership to support Satellite Launch Missions.

NewSpace India Limited is a Government of India company under the Department of Space. NSIL is also the commercial arm of ISRO.
The MoU aims to cater to the Global commercial satellite launch needs.
With the new MoU in effect, LVM-3, the heavy-lift launch vehicle of NSIL/ISTO and Ariane 6 rockets will be used to address global launch service demands. They will cater to the demands of launching heavier communication/earth observation satellites and also satellites for mega-constellations.
According to the service market assessment for the decade by Global Launch, there are indications of huge demands for launching satellites in GTO and LEO.
The new MoU paves the way for the LVM-3 to take up the space left by the discontinuation of Soyuz launches from Kourou.
On the other hand, Arianespace will also be able to offer the LVM-3 to European customers, further allowing them to have a share of the revenue earned by NSIL.
