Huawei Watch GT 5 – Launched in India

Two models of the Huawei Watch GT 5 have been introduced to Indian customers – 41mm and 46mm; with AMOLED display screens of 1.32″(33.52mm) and 1.43″(36.322mm) respectively. The different variants start at a price of INR 15,999, and with bank/coupon discounts, the effective price can be brought even below, and customers will be able to purchase it from INR 15,499.

The 41mm Black/Blue/White – Fluoroelastomer/Leather strap, 46mm Black – Fluoroelastomer/Blue-Fabric/Silicon Strap, and 41mm Gold – Stainless Steel Strap are priced INR 15,999, INR 16,999, and INR 21,999 respectively. As mentioned, Indian customers will now be able to pre-order all these models on Flipkart, and the open sale will begin from the 20th of October 2024.

Huawei Watch GT 5 – Specifications

The Huawei Watch GT 5 features an AMOLED display with 466 x 466 pixels resolution, and 352 PPI and 326 PPI pixel densities for the 1.32″ and 1.43″ display models. It is compatible with Android 9.0+/iOS 13.0+, and features a rotating crown(home button) and side button. The device also has an IP69K-rated body and is 5ATM waterproof.

More than 100 sports modes (along with pro sports mode for Golf, Trail Run and Diving); sensors like ambient light sensor, accelerometer, magnetometer, gyroscope, barometer, temperature sensor, and optical heart rate sensor; and health trackers like sleep analysis, ECG analysis, pulse wave arrhythmia analysis, and women’s health tracker are supported on the device.

On the connectivity side, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS, and other location positioning services are present. For calling, a speaker and microphone have also been provided. Regarding battery life, from 3 days to up to 14 days of battery life can be expected based on usage.

Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2

It sports a 12.2-inch Tandem OLED PaperMatte display that offers 2000 nits peak brightness, 2.8K screen resolution, 1.07 billion colors, 92% screen-to-body ratio, 3:2 aspect ratio, and 144Hz refresh rate. The device arrives with SGS Low Visual Fatigue 2.0 Premium Performance certification, TUV Rheinland Reflection free certification, and TUV Rheinland Full Care Display 3.0 certification.

The smartwatch is built with Zirconium-based liquid metal and features a sapphire lass dial, dual color nanotech ceramic bezel, Titanium alloy button, nanocrystal ceramic case back and 360-degree compass-inspired design.

It sports a 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED display with themed watch faces. It is water resistant up to 10ATM. It offers up to 14 days of battery life in typical use and 8 days of battery life with heavy use. It supports Qi Wireless Charging. It comes with Huawei Global Advanced Golf Course mode. This feature uses precision dual-frequency GNSS to provide high-accuracy positioning, distance calculation, and intelligent recommendations. You can also keep a score check via the Huawei Health app.  The smartwatch features an enhanced Expedition mode that supports all-color contour maps for offline use and an Expedition Route Import feature. The smartwatch arrives with a 46mm option with two strap variants- a Woven Nylon strap and a Fluoroelastomer strap.

It features a 1.43-inch AMOLED touchscreen display. It runs on Harmony OS and is compatible with iOS 8.0 or later and Android 13 or later. It supports Bluetooth 5.2 and GPS connectivity. It offers up to 14 days of battery life while it takes 100 minutes to fully charge the smartwatch. It features 5ATM water resistance and a voice assistant.

TruSense technology offers health and fitness tracking features that include- Walking, running, swimming, mountain hiking, skiing, cycling, boxing, jump rope, football, heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen, sleep tracking, stress rest, breathing exercises, AI weight management program, Nutrition analysis, SpO2 cycle, menstrual cycle, abnormal blood oxygen reminder. Huawei is all set to launch a number of its products on September 19th in Barcelona. During the launch event, the company will also launch new smartwatches in the Huawei Watch GT series. These smartwatches can be the Huawei Watch GT 5 and the Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro. The company recently teased the products to be launched on X partially also showing the design. Now just ahead of the official launch Huawei Watch GT 5 46mm (VLI-B19) and Huawei GT 5 Pro 46mm (VLI-B29) smartwatch images have been revealed through its NCC certification.

As per the images, the smartwatch has a circular dial with a functional crown and a button on the same side (probably an action button to control exercise features). It has a metallic body around the display. The rear side of the smartwatch shows the sensor to support the health suite. As per the image, the smartwatch will come with swappable straps. You can choose between a silicone strap (Blue and Black (Both Pro and Vanilla variants)) and a metal strap (Only in GT 5 Pro as per the NCC). If you look at the GT 5 Watch above in blue colour, you will see a dual tone on the dial. The metallic strap on the GT 5 Pro, appears to have a magnetic end.

The image also shows that the smartwatch comes in a 5ATM body thus making it resistant to splash and dust. It will come with a magnetic wireless charger that will charge their smartwatch. It shows that the charger supports an input of 5V-9V at 2A. This would mean, it would come with 18W fast charging support.

The magnetic charger shown in the listing shows a model number “CCAK23LP1350T2”. This same charger also comes with Huawei GT 4.

As far as features are concerned the smartwatches can come with the TrueSense, IP68, and a health monitoring system that can help in providing more accurate health data measurement.

The Chinese manufacturer Huawei has today officially announced that it will be hosting a new product launch conference on 10^th September in China but what caught the attention of tech enthusiasts was the poster image of the event announcement.

The poster depicts a tri-fold device which strongly suggests that the device will be unveiled at this event. The image shows two opposing hinges with a Z-type fold. This will be the world’s first tri-fold smartphone, though it is not sure whether the company will unveil just the prototype of the device or launch the device.

A recent report revealed that the tri-fold has entered the production phase. This tri-fold smartphone is said to come with the world’s first dual hinge with an internal and external folding function and a flat internal display of about 10 inches. The thickness is said to be not as good as a bi-fold phone.  No official detail regarding the features of this smartphone has been shared till now.

Other than the tri-fold device, the company also teased the launch of a new version of the Alto M9 electric vehicle with 6 seats. You can check out the teaser video below.

Huawei can soon come up with new products for the global market known from the listings of its products on certification websites. We have seen the Huawei Watch GT 5 series being listed on IMDA, SDPPI, and TUV-like certification websites. And just recently we came to know that along with this series, we will also see the Huawei Watch D2 smartwatch in the global market. The company will soon also be launching Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2 and Huawei MatePad 12X in the global market very soon evident from its listing on UAE’s TDRA certification website.

Now ahead of these launches, one more smartwatch has made it to the SDPPI certification website, and along with the accessory compatible with the Huawei MatePad 12X. This is the Huawei Watch GT Ultimate with the model number WDS-B19 and Huawei Smart Magnetic Keyboard compatible with the Huawei MatePad 12X tablet. The listing does not reveal any specs of the upcoming Huawei Watch GT Ultimate. This was spotted by a tipster named Mochamad Farido Fanani.

It is backed by a Kirin 9000W SoC and is backed by a 10100mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging. It comes with support for Huawei M-Pencil (3rd Gen) and Star Flash Keyboard. The tablet offers various AI features also to improve user experience. It also packs up a dual rear camera setup that includes a 13MP main camera while on the front it features an 8MP selfie camera. It is 5.9mm thin and weighs 555g.

We recently reported that Huawei is making a strong comeback with the new Huawei Watch GT 5 Series, which is expected to launch both in its home country, China, and globally. Initially, it was believed that only the GT 5 and GT 5 Pro models would be released. However, recent developments suggest a different story: the GT 5 will come in two different sizes, while the Pro variant will come in a single size. Additionally, the Watch D2, which has been the subject of rumours since last year, has also been spotted on the UAE’s TDRA certification suggesting an imminent launch.

Huawei Watch GT 5 Series and Watch D2

Continuing from our previous report, two model numbers were initially spotted: VLI-B29 for the GT 5 Pro and VLI-B19 for the GT 5. However, today another model number, “JNA-B19,” was spotted on both SDPPI and UAE’s TDRA. While the SDPPI didn’t reveal any details, the TDRA provided further details about the sizes it may come in.

According to the TDRA certification, the GT 5 will come in two sizes: 41mm (JNA-B19) and 46mm (VLI-B19). The Pro variant will be available in a single size of 46mm (VLI-B29), as per the latest findings. Additionally, the newly discovered model number “JNA-B19” of the GT 5 will feature IP68-rated protection, just like its sibling.

Earlier findings have also revealed 18W fast charging support for the GT 5 series. The next smartwatch from Huawei, the Watch D2, has been the subject of rumours since last year and appears to be preparing for a global release. Its sighting on the TDRA and TUV certifications confirms this.

It is listed on the TDRA with the model number “LCA-B10,” identified as the Huawei Watch D2. This same model number is also listed on the TUV, indicating it has an IP68 rating. Additionally, there is another model number, “LCA-B11,” which might also belong to the D2 series, although this has not been confirmed yet.
