Various details regarding the upcoming HarmonyOS Next have been revealed online while it was rumored that this custom skin will be unveiled in Q4 2024. The company did not reveal the actual launch date but it did release the official upgrade plan for HarmonyOS Next. Apart from this, it was also revealed that this latest software upgrade will replace Windows in upcoming Huawei PCs.

Huawei has now officially confirmed that HarmonyOS Next will launch on 22nd October in the Chinese market.

Reportedly this custom skin will be abandoning the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and support for Android apps. It is said to support in-house code and apps.  It uses a self-developed microkernel OS based on OpenHarmony open-source core. It is expected to offer a seamless unified architecture. Detailed information regarding this upgrade will be known after the official launch.

Other than this, Huawei is also currently rumored to be working on the Mate 70 series which is expected to launch soon in China. As per a Weibo tipster, this upcoming series is expected to use an upgraded AI sensing chip to enhance existing gestures.

This means that apart from Air gestures that were introduced with Mate 30 Pro and is constantly being upgraded, users will also get to see more new motion-based features to make users work easy and enhance their overall experience.

This AI sensing chip that is tipped to arrive with the smartphone series is expected to track and identify motions or signals made by user’s hand which will then be recognized by the device to fulfill the desired command. These sensors are further said to be combined with 3D depth-sensing lenses, infrared technology as well as machine learning to provide accurate results in real-time.

Huawei Mate 70 series is also expected to be powered by a new Kirin 9100 chipset. In the coming days, we may come across some more details related to this upcoming smartphone series.

Huawei, the Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer, caught the attention of the tech industry and foldable market as such with the world’s very first triple foldable smartphone – Mate XT Ultimate and now, the brand is preparing for the launch of its next foldable device – Mate X6. As its expected launch time frame nears, the peripheral materials of the upcoming device has been shared via the Weibo platform of China.

Here’s more about it.

Huawei Mate X6 – Peripheral Materials Ready

Huawei’s Mate X6, which was initially believed to be the triple-foldable device that the company was making, will be a dual book-like foldable smartphone and is revealed to feature a very flat display screen for better viewing. Using this super flat display, reflections can be reduced, and with the light weight material (UTG – Ultra Thin Glass solution), the users will be getting a better in-hand feel. The same circular rear camera layout, but probably with a different lens arrangement, HarmonyOS Next out of the box, better image and AI capabilities, and new Kirin 5G chipset are other expected specs.

Other recent updates also point out that the smartphone brand has increased the production orders of its Mate X6 smartphone, following which, the peripheral materials for the device has been spotted and are ready.

While nothing more has been shared about the upcoming foldable smartphone, one thing is sure now. The device may be having its launch in the month of November 2024 itself as previously suggested by reports. It is also believed that in the same month, around the same time of the Mate X6 launch, Huawei is also likely to launch the next Mate 70 series flagship devices too.

Apart from the given details, nothing much is available as of now regarding the Mate X6 smartphone. However, updates can be expected in the coming weeks which might reveal more. In the meantime, you may check out the specifications of the previous Mate X5 smartphone here.

Huawei is all set to launch a number of its products on September 19th in Barcelona. During the launch event, the company will also launch new smartwatches in the Huawei Watch GT series. These smartwatches can be the Huawei Watch GT 5 and the Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro. The company recently teased the products to be launched on X partially also showing the design. Now just ahead of the official launch Huawei Watch GT 5 46mm (VLI-B19) and Huawei GT 5 Pro 46mm (VLI-B29) smartwatch images have been revealed through its NCC certification.

As per the images, the smartwatch has a circular dial with a functional crown and a button on the same side (probably an action button to control exercise features). It has a metallic body around the display. The rear side of the smartwatch shows the sensor to support the health suite. As per the image, the smartwatch will come with swappable straps. You can choose between a silicone strap (Blue and Black (Both Pro and Vanilla variants)) and a metal strap (Only in GT 5 Pro as per the NCC). If you look at the GT 5 Watch above in blue colour, you will see a dual tone on the dial. The metallic strap on the GT 5 Pro, appears to have a magnetic end.

The image also shows that the smartwatch comes in a 5ATM body thus making it resistant to splash and dust. It will come with a magnetic wireless charger that will charge their smartwatch. It shows that the charger supports an input of 5V-9V at 2A. This would mean, it would come with 18W fast charging support.

The magnetic charger shown in the listing shows a model number “CCAK23LP1350T2”. This same charger also comes with Huawei GT 4.

As far as features are concerned the smartwatches can come with the TrueSense, IP68, and a health monitoring system that can help in providing more accurate health data measurement.
