I earlier reviewed the TOZO PA2 portable Bluetooth speaker and now I have got my hands on another portable speaker from TOZO called the TOZO PA1. As the name suggests, it is the predecessor of the TOZO PA2. Before explaining how well or poorly it performed in my testing, let me share my first impressions of the TOZO PA1.

First impression

My initial impression of this portable speaker is quite positive. From unboxing to the initial setup, the process was smooth. With just a few clicks, I was able to connect it to my smartphone. Additionally, I tested it with my Samsung TV, and it was fairly decent.

The box contained a USB Type-C cable, a rope, an instruction manual, and the speaker itself. This portable speaker comes in a pill-shaped design, and the best part is it has a small bump at the bottom and the back, allowing you to place it on a flat surface.

Additionally, I must say it is definitely one of the loudest speakers in its 20W category.

One thing I noticed was a slight delay when changing the EQ settings from the app or even from the speaker itself. So, this is my initial impression of the speaker; now, I will share my detailed experience with it.

Design and Durability

The front is also nicely packed with a metal-like grille featuring a large TOZO logo placed in the middle. It is only offered in a single colour option of black. The control buttons, consisting of Power, Bluetooth, Play, Volume +, Volume -, and Mode, are placed on the top. The buttons are clearly marked and self-explanatory, and I didn’t encounter any issues with them.

I also tested its durability by using my almighty fingernails and scratched it multiple times. It handled my scratch test well. Another notable feature is that it comes with IPX7 protection, meaning you can submerge it in water up to 1 meter deep, and it will still function. I tried splashing water on it, and it continued to work perfectly afterwards.

The weight is also balanced, weighing about 590 grams considering its overall design, and carries a dimension of 210×91×61mm.

Connectivity and Features

Connecting the TOZO PA1 was a breeze. As soon as you turn on the speaker, it goes into pairing mode, with the blue Bluetooth LED light next to the power button flickering until the device is connected. Once connected, you get a stable blue light. Additionally, it has a Bluetooth button which, when pressed twice, will disconnect it from the current device, allowing it to be paired with another device.

Also, it remembers the last paired device and connects to it automatically.

This portable speaker comes with three EQ presets on the device itself: Bass+, Treble+, and Standard. Additionally, there are a total of 16 EQ presets available, and you can customise and save your own EQ presets as well.

It comes with Bluetooth version 5.0, and the company claims it has a range of 10 metres.

It also offers dual pairing, but this only works if you have another TOZO PA1 speaker. When paired, both speakers connect together, providing dual-speaker sound.

Additionally, it features Bluetooth calling. I will discuss my experience with this feature later in the article.

Sound Quality

As it features 1 20W 60mm full range speaker with 2 80mm×50 passive radiators, you will get the best sound experience. It also supports AAC/SBC codecs. The vocals were clear and crisp, but at maximum volume, the bass was lacking, and the sound became a little too trebly. At mids and lows, it has a decent grip even on the bass, I would say. However, don’t expect it to deliver major bass, as it comes with 20W speakers.

The bass is decent for its size and even the Bluetooth calling experience was fine. I tested it and the other person was able to hear me without any distortion. But, since it comes with a single mic, I had to place myself closer to the speaker to utilise it completely.

I also tested it with my Samsung TV to play Battlefield 1, and I would say it didn’t give me any lag in sound. However, as a bass lover, I found it a bit lacking in this department.

TOZO Smart App

The TOZO Smart app provides a total of 16 EQ settings, and the best part is you can save presets within the app. Another feature is the ability to turn off the speaker directly from the app.

Battery

It packs a decent 4,000 mAh battery, and the company claims it has a 25-hour playback time at 50% volume. However, I got around 12 hours of playback time at 50%, while at full volume, the battery drains quickly. At full volume, I managed to get close to 5 hours of playback time.

For charging, it comes with a USB Type-A to Type-C cable, and it takes around 1.5 hours for a complete charge, even though the company claims 2.5 hours.

Verdict

Though it is priced at Rs 6,000, it can be purchased for Rs 4,200 with a discount. I would say it is a decent 20W Bluetooth speaker offering great sound at this price range. Although the price is low, the look and build quality are not. Based on my experience, I have created the pros and cons of this Bluetooth speaker. I hope this will help you make up your mind.

Pros:

  1. Sturdy Design: IPX7 waterproof rating and durable construction.
  2. Easy Connectivity: Seamless Bluetooth pairing and auto-connect feature.
  3. Decent Sound Quality: Clear vocals and decent bass for its size.
  4. Long Battery Life: Up to 12 hours at 50% volume.
  5. TOZO Smart App: Allows for EQ customization and preset saving.

Cons:

  1. Limited Bass: Bass performance may be lacking for bass enthusiasts.
  2. EQ Adjustment Delay: Slight delay when changing EQ settings.
  3. Battery Drain at High Volume: Significant reduction in playback time at full volume.

TOZO Pa 2

We have a new Bluetooth speaker in town from TOZO called the TOZO PA 2. After using the review unit for more than two weeks, I can confidently say it is probably one of the best-tuned Bluetooth speakers in its price range of ₹3,500 (Approx $35 USD). But before diving into the full review, let me share my first impressions of this Bluetooth speaker.

First Impressions

As usual, the packaging was neat and arrived in a white box. It included a USB Type-A to USB Type-C cable and a rope to tie to the speaker. The unit I received was red with a metal grill finish, and the speaker ends on both sides have soft rubber. While the front displays the logo, you’ll find all the controls on the back.

The rope allows you to hook the speaker up. The sound is definitely adequate for a 16W speaker. Despite its compact size, it offers impressive performance. The mobile app also provides additional equalizer settings to customize the sound.

These are my first impressions, and I will discuss this in more detail below.

Design and Connectivity

The design is sleek as well as compact, with dimensions of 180mm x 70mm x 76mm, and it is slightly heavy, weighing about 540 grams. It definitely felt premium when I held it for the first time. The appearance resembles JBL Bluetooth speakers. The back has six buttons: Power, Bluetooth, Pause and Play, Volume Up and Down, Equalizer, and a USB Type-C slot for charging. This means you can also change the EQ settings from the speaker itself without needing to use the app. The power button and the Bluetooth button both have LED lighting. When the speaker disconnects and enters pairing mode, the Bluetooth light will flicker continuously.

The back controls are self-explanatory, and I didn’t encounter any issues while using them. It comes with Bluetooth version 5.3 and offers dual pairing. Don’t confuse dual pairing with dual connectivity; in this context, it means you can connect another speaker to create stereo sound. However, you will need another TOZO Bluetooth speaker for this feature, as it didn’t work when I tried to connect it with another Bluetooth speaker. For reference, I used a Boat Stone 193 for testing.

I was able to switch between both of my smartphones quite easily. The speaker will automatically connect to the last paired device, but when I double-tapped on the Bluetooth icon on the speaker, it disconnected from the main device, allowing me to connect to the device I wanted.

The range of the speakers is also good. TOZO claims it to be 10 meters, and in my testing, this appeared to be accurate. Connecting through the mobile app is also a breeze, which I will discuss in more depth below.

Sound and Performance

Featuring two 8W, 1.7-inch speakers and two 44 x 49 mm passive radiators with a frequency range of 60Hz – 20KHz, these speakers are definitely loud. We reviewed another 16W speaker, and this one seems to overpower it. Furthermore, the TOZO PA 2 supports AAC/SBC codecs. During sound output testing, the speakers reached an 87 dB sound rating, which is quite impressive for a compact speaker like this.

I played my old classic, “Beautiful Liar” by Beyoncé and Shakira, and the sound took me back to that time. However, don’t expect too much bass from these speakers. Considering they are just 16W, I am satisfied with the performance, and they are probably one of the best in their segment and price range.

You can also answer or reject calls from this speaker. Further testing revealed that the voice was crisp, and the other person was able to hear me clearly. I also noticed that even from a distance of 5-6 feet, the person could hear me without any issues.

The gaming experience was okay, but as a bass enthusiast, I felt it was lacking in that area. Nevertheless, the performance was still impressive, especially considering its price range. Of course, it doesn’t compare to a $200 soundbar, but there was no lag in the sound relay.

Mobile App

While using the mobile app, you can choose from several presets available for the EQ settings. Additionally, you can customize the existing EQ settings and save your preferences. You will receive regular updates from TOZO. In fact, just when I started using it, I got an update and noticed that the sound output became smoother.

Battery and charging

It packs a 2000mAh/7.4V battery, and according to TOZO, the charging time is less than 3 hours. In my testing, I drained the battery twice and was able to get a complete charge in less than 1.5 hours. TOZO claims a playback time of 25 hours if used at 50% volume, but I got around 10-12 hours of playback time, which is still sufficient for me. When the battery was at 20%, the speaker made a humming sound as a reminder. Additionally, while charging, a red LED light next to the EQ button lights up, and it turns off once the charge is complete. This feature is beneficial as it helps prevent overcharging.

Water Test

TOZO claims it is IPX8 certified, so I decided to put it to the test. It definitely proved to be a durable speaker. I poured a glass of water onto it, and as you can see in the video below, there was no issue with the sound quality.

Final Verdict

Based on my usage, I feel these are definitely compact yet powerful speakers in their price segment. Based on my experience, I have listed the pros and cons of this Bluetooth speaker to help you make up your mind.

Pros:

  • Affordable Price: Excellent value at ₹3,500 (approximately $35 USD).
  • Compact and Sleek Design: Easy to carry and aesthetically pleasing.
  • Impressive Sound Quality: Loud and clear with a frequency range of 60Hz – 20KHz and an 87 dB sound rating.
  • Durability: IP68 certified, making it water-resistant and durable.
  • User-Friendly Controls: Simple controls and customizable EQ settings via the mobile app.
  • Good Battery Performance: Quick charging time and decent playback duration.

Cons:

  • Bass Performance: May not satisfy bass enthusiasts.
  • Dual Pairing Limitation: Only works with another TOZO PA 2 speaker, not with different brands.
  • Playback Time: Falls short of the claimed 25 hours at 50% volume, delivering around 10-12 hours instead.

Overall, the TOZO PA 2 stands out as a well-rounded, affordable Bluetooth speaker that excels in design, connectivity, and performance, making it a top choice in its segment.

In this age of AI, smart devices have become important for everyone. With a flood of smart wearables from various brands in the market, I recently got my hands on the Tozo S5 smartwatch. Before getting into my overall experience, let me first share my initial impressions of this device.

First Impression

I recently received a smartwatch in sleek packaging. Inside the box, you’ll find the watch, the strap, and a charger cable with a magnetic end. While it doesn’t include a charging adapter, the USB cable can easily fit with your smartphone charging adapter.

The strap feels like it’s made of silicon. The dial and the strap are packed separately, so you need to connect them after opening the package. The watch comes with three strap options: Black, Titanium Gray, and Orange. For this review, I received the black strap, but I must say the titanium gray strap looks better. Also, it weighs about 61 grams and didn’t feel like it was heavy.

When I took the watch to the gym, it truly impressed me. It tracked every single heartbeat and constantly reminded me to drink water. It also alerted me whenever my heart rate exceeded 160 bpm. I’ll discuss its features in more detail below.

Design and Connectivity

First, let’s talk about the design. It truly amazed me with a 1.43″ Ultra High AMOLED display featuring thinner bezels, a 336 PPI screen density, and a resolution of 466×466 pixels.

Additionally, the screen brightness was adequate even when exposed to sunlight. I was able to view the information on the smartwatch without any issues.

The watch looks classic with a 48mm metallic aluminum dial (not the straps). The round button on the right edge showcases the Tozo Wear App symbol and has a sports button on the right side. When you turn the watch upside down, you’ll see the sensors at the bottom along with a magnetic area for connecting the charger. The round bezels also have a thin white line marking all around them.

Additionally, the straps include a lock mechanism to ensure they don’t look loose.

Regarding connectivity, the smartwatch comes with Bluetooth version 5.3. To start, open the box and power on the smartwatch by pressing and holding the round button. The first thing you will notice is the Tozo marking, followed by a prompt to connect it with the Tozo Wear App. You can download the app from the Google Play Store or Apple Store. The watch screen will display a QR code that you can scan with your smartphone, but it’s better to connect it via the app.

Once you download the app, open it and click the “+” symbol to add a device. Make sure you use the Tozo Wear app specifically, as there is another Tozo app for headphones. When your smartphone starts searching for the device, the smartwatch will automatically display a pairing request. Accept the request, and the smartwatch will connect to your device and display the default dial.

Sadly, it doesn’t support dual connectivity, so you will need to uninstall it from one device before pairing it with another. The smartwatch also features Bluetooth calling, allowing you to dial numbers directly from the watch. However, you need to open the app to add selected contacts before you can make calls from the contact menu on the watch itself. Also, it will show you notifications from other social media apps along with regular SMS notifications.

The voice clarity is adequate, thanks to the inbuilt mic and speaker. I tested it personally, and the person on the other end was able to hear me clearly, even saying it was better than my phone’s voice quality. The speaker is located at the bottom, so sometimes the alerts are not that loud.

Features

This is definitely a feature-rich smartwatch in its price segment. It offers 105 sports modes along with SPO2, heart rate, sleep tracking, and many other features. I tested the SPO2 feature with a regular oximeter, and both showed the same results. However, you need to make a fist with your thumb inside and keep your arm still to get an accurate reading.

The feature I liked the most is the heart rate alert. When my heart rate went above 162 bpm during exercise, the smartwatch alerted me. This is crucial because, during exercise, you might not know when to take a rest. Additionally, if you are sitting and working, it will remind you to drink water and stretch. I didn’t have to worry about sweat during my workout sessions as it has IP68-rated protection.

The app tracks your daily steps and can integrate with the iOS Health app. Through the app, you can also see how many hours of sleep you had each day, with a breakdown of Awake, REM (Rapid Eye Movement), Light Sleep, and Deep Sleep stages. It also recorded my heart rate while I was asleep. Judging by my sleep record, it’s clear I’m not a deep sleeper, lol.

The smartwatch offers several watch faces, but you need to sync them through the app. You can also add your own image as a background to the dial and customize it further.

You can check weather updates on the smartwatch either by clicking the round button on the side or swiping right. There’s also a feature called Raise to Wake, which lights up the screen when you raise your wrist, allowing you to see the time and other details.

Another useful feature is “Find My Phone.” If you want to locate your smartphone, just select this option, and the connected smartphone will start ringing. It works the other way around too—go into the Tozo Wear App, select “Device” from the bottom menu, and then choose “Find Device.” Your smartwatch will start making noise, making it easy to find.

The Do Not Disturb mode on this smartwatch works just like the one on your smartphone. You can select it to be active all day or for a specific duration, such as during a meeting. This is handy because you don’t have to reach for your smartphone to enable it.

The smartwatch also features an Always On Time option, similar to the Apple Watch 5. Once activated, the screen stays on even when your hands are down. You can choose between 5 minutes or 10 minutes.

Additionally, there’s a power-saving mode that, once activated, reduces screen brightness, allowing you to get better battery life from the smartwatch. But you won’t be able to access exercise modes while in battery saver mode. You will have to press the sports button (the rectangular one) to exit out of the power-saving mode.

You can also control your phone’s playlist and sound via this smartwatch.

Just like my iPhone 12, it also offers a flashlight option. Once turned on, the screen illuminates at full brightness. While it’s not comparable to the iPhone’s flashlight, it is decent enough. For those who are looking for the GPS option, sadly it doesn’t offer that.

Battery

It comes with a decent battery size of 300 mAh, and the company claims a usage life of 7-10 days and a standby life of 30 days. However, this will depend on how you use the smartwatch. For example, I used it with high screen brightness and got 3-4 days of backup. However, in low brightness mode, I was able to get around 6-7 days with normal usage.

For the charging test, I completely drained the battery and started charging at 7:56 PM IST. It was fully charged by 9:37 PM IST, taking around 2 hours and 21 minutes to charge completely.

Final Verdict

The Tozo S5 smartwatch impresses with its sleek design, vibrant display, and comprehensive health-tracking features. While it may lack dual connectivity and has limited functionality in battery saver mode, its overall performance and affordability make it a compelling choice for users looking for a reliable and feature-packed smart wearable.

A while ago I brought to you the review of the OnePlus Z2 ANC Neckband after testing on different grounds to give a nonbiased review. And I said that a neckband is ideal for high bass music lovers but at the same time not very impressive for the vocals. Today we are going to know everything about the TOZO OpenEgo Earbuds. Let me make this clear at the beginning this is not a usual TWS earbud with in-ear design, neckband, or any over-the-head headphones but this time it’s TOZO OpenEgo Open Ear Earphones. These earphones have gone under two long weeks of testing, under different scenarios to check their comfortability, features, battery life, sound quality, and much more.

First and foremost: Packaging

These earbuds come in decent packaging with no such fancy element. Inside the box, you find papers that include a manual, and a quick guide. As you keep them aside you see the charging case encasing the earbuds. You also find a rectangular box that encases a Type A to C cable and two earphone braces. I will tell you the function of these braces in a while. As said these earbuds are quite different so you might consider reading instructions written in manuals and if not I am here to explain it to you.

Design

This is an open-ear earbud and the reason to mention this thing before moving ahead in design is it’s quite large in comparison to usual in-ear-design TWS earbuds. The large earbuds mean a comparatively large charging case. The charging case is made of plastic and comes rectangular with round edges. The case is not hard to keep in your pocket but I would say it is better to carry in a bag or purse. It won’t bother you. Now coming on the earbuds it has a hook part that goes behind the pinna or say outer ear. At one end you see the earphones’ sound outlet that has a sensor, speaker, light indicator, and mic that rest on the ear canal.

The charging case has a metallic-looking design that becomes broad at the front and sleek on both sides. As soon as you open the case you surprisingly get to see the charging status of the case upfront on this metallic kind of element on the case and at the bottom you see the Type C port.

The earbuds also have light indicators that light up as soon as you open up the case to take out the earbuds. These earbuds are quite flexible and strong that can bear some tensile pressure and fall.

Let’s move ahead.

Is it comfortable to use?

Undoubtedly if I had written this just after a week of using it I would say it’s not fitting properly nor its touch work properly. Fortunately, two weeks have passed and I have learned a few things that are worth sharing. I have always used neckbands and headphones because whenever I would use an in-ear TWS earbud it would fall off from one of the ears. I found the OnePlus Z2 ANC earbuds to be better in terms of comfort. I didn’t have to put any extra pressure on my earbuds in order to keep them in place.

Earlier I did face issues in placing the earbuds properly but lately, I understood the way to place them. Here I want to mention that some users may find it a bit loose at first but using these buds with the braces can solve it. Many times I found it a bit loose on the right side but now that I have learned to place the hook part properly behind the ears there is no issue as such. And while jogging and running I would say use braces to prevent its fall. The comfort aspect largely depends on your ear shape and size. However after two weeks of usage, I am confident to say that it’s comfortable to use regularly and during exercising, running, and more. It is lightweight and comfortably stays in its place as soon as you wear it but if it dont in your case, use the silicone braces that it comes with.

How about all functions: Are they working well?

Let me start this by telling you all the specs of these earbuds.

The earbuds come with a touch panel for the touch controls, a mic, and a light indicator that lights up as soon as you open up the charging case. It comes equipped with the 16.5mm massive Dynamic driver and stays connected with Bluetooth v5.3. As far as battery life is concerned each earbud is backed by a 100mAh battery while the charging case packs a 600mAh battery.

I am going to start with the touch controls which are quite handy and responsive. You can easily control volume, play, pause, and cut and pick the call. A few times I found that it didn’t respond to the touch and I had to reach out my phone in order to pick up a call or play a song. You can also activate the voice assistant by tapping its touch panel thrice. The touch aspect is customizable through the app which I found quite impressive. After touch controls now comes the mic part that needs improvement.  Every time I would pick a call using these earbuds the caller would ask me to be louder or if I am responding from a distance. I had to speak a bit louder at the call as it didn’t catch it well.

These earbuds can be controlled through a dedicated TOZO app that lets you customize the touch controls, choose between preset 16 EQ modes, and make one by yourself also that you can save in the app. And you can also update on receiving one from this app directly. The interesting aspect of this app is its community section where users have shared their customized EQ that you can simply tap and use to listen. You also get the free access to a handful of soothing, relaxing, hypnotic tunes. In the profile section, you get to see the posts that you have posted, the feedback section, saved EQ, and Settings.

I will not have to think even one more time before saying that the battery aspect is amazing. In the span of two weeks, I have not charged it more than four or five times. Every time I would take out the earbuds it would show me a 100% charge. That does give you a sign of relief when you are on the go and don’t have time to charge it. I have used these earbuds regularly for two to three hours at least and sometimes even more. And connectivity is quite good as soon as you open the charging case you find it paired with the device that it was paired with.

What about the listening experience

Let’s address the elephant in the room and talk about the most important thing in this review article which is my experience with these earbuds. These TOZO OpenEgo Open Ear earbuds sound mesh rests just above your ear canal. This helps you to be aware of your surroundings while you are enjoying your favorite music. I never had to stop the music as I used to do with in ear TWS earbuds to listen to someone saying something. This comfort comes at a cost and that is for those who love to hear the high bass, or music full of drum rolls, and beats. When you listen to such high bass music from TOZO OpenEgo Open Earbuds you do get to listen to the high-quality sound but at the same time, it feels as if the sound is coming from a distance. I had to bring the sound mesh a bit closer to the ear canal in order to feel the beats.

“It’s like I am hearing the beats but can’t enjoy it to the fullest”

The in-ear TWS earbuds do it better than open-ear earbuds in general because the in-ear earbuds are in your ear canal ensuring no other sound enters there. Exposure to these high beats for a longer period can be hazardous to your eardrums, so make sure to not listen to it for so long. The TOZO OpenEgo Open Earbuds are not going to cause any such issue because it has neither got any silicone tip nor sit in your ear canal. The sound quality is no doubt quite good, credit to the massive drivers.

For vocals and slow music, I am literally not going to pick another sound product because these earbuds do it so well that it’s just WOW. The richness of the vocals that it has to offer makes it my first preference for those who love hearing podcasts, stories, or anything that’s kind of slow. I have used a number of earbuds and was using them alongside to compare their richness for the vocal, I found this to be way more better than any other.

Order order! It’s verdict time guys

There have always been some plus and minus with each product but TOZO OpenEgo Open Earbuds is a perfect companion for you if you are someone who wants to enjoy music while being aware of your surroundings at the same time, enjoy rich sound quality music at the time of jogging, racing without worrying about its fitting or fall, or someone who loves to hear vocals podcast and low beat music this is the best pick for you. I would also mention those listeners who think that in ear design TWS earbuds hurt their ears after a week of usage or can be hazardous to them.

I am not recommending these earbuds for those who don’t want to give up on high-bass, beat music at the time of jogging, exercising, or maybe before starting work. If you are someone who listens to “Imagine Dragons’ Believer” and gets ready to work, better pick an in-ear design TWS earbuds or headphones because it may not be justice to these types of song listeners.

While you decide on it I recommend that all those who love slow music pick these buds and go to the park and play “A Man Without Love”. You will love hearing this on these earbuds and walking in the greenery.

Previously we have been reviewing a few of the audio products by TOZO and it was found out the company has always tried to introduce products that arrive with tons of features and at a reasonable price point. Today I am going to talk about yet another TOZO audio product- TOZO Tonal Fits which arrives at a price tag of Rs.3,100.

In this particular article, I will be sharing my experience with the TOZO Tonal Fits and exactly what these earbuds have to offer to their users at their budget-friendly pricing.

Packaging

TOZO Tonal Fits arrive with decent and minimalistic packaging. On the inside, you will find a case along with the earbuds and a USB Type-C charging cable. There is also a user manual and quick guide present for the users that helps them in the introduction of the earbuds, pairing with a smartphone, and knowing the various touch control gestures.

Design

The earbuds arrive in a pod-shaped case that has a matte finish while the earbuds feature a semi in-ear design. However, due to the semi in-ear design, the proper noise isolation was not possible. The marking of left and right is present on the earbuds while the charging pin, dual microphone, and speaker grille can also be seen. There is also an LED flash indicator on both earbuds. The earbuds boast 14.2mm drivers.

If we talk about the case, to maintain the matte finish you need to wipe the case once in a while. On the front, there is a digital display present that showcases the battery level of the case along with left and right earbuds. A Type-C port is also present on the backside of the case.

Well, when I used these earbuds while traveling they stayed in place and were quite comfortable but that was not the case when I used them while jogging as they felt a bit uncomfortable and a few times even fell off my ear. However, this may not be the problem for everyone due to differences in ear types. Wearing these earbuds for a long time was not a problem since the ear tips are made of soft silicone that doesn’t cause any irritation.

Connectivity and Compatibility

These earbuds support Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity and I was able to instantly pair the earbuds with my smartphone as soon as I took out the earbuds from the case. You will be able to find the “Tozo Tonal Fits” name on the available Bluetooth devices list and from there you can easily connect the earbuds to your device. After this, whenever you take out the earbuds from the case, they will automatically connect to your smartphone if the Bluetooth is on.

These earbuds support the TOZO companion app and just like the Bluetooth connectivity, pairing with the app is also super easy. After connecting the earbuds, the app will show the battery level of both the earbuds. While going to settings you can also check for any OTA updates.

When I connected the earbuds to the app I saw that there was an update available for the earbuds and therefore I upgraded them to the latest firmware version.

Apart from this, there were 16 preset EQ settings available that allowed me to enhance the listening experience and explore various listening options. The app also allows you to customize the gesture controls on the earbuds.

However, the noise cancellation features were not available for the TOZO Tonal Fits earbuds.

Features & Performance

The earbuds adopt Dual-mic Call Noise technology that is said to eliminate background noise and ensure clear calls. It arrives with an IPX8 waterproof rating and sweatproof nano-coating that protects the earbuds in various conditions.  The buds cover a 20Hz-20,000Hz frequency range. The maximum distance between earbuds and connected devices should not exceed 12 meters. The earbuds also support various touch gestures that make the user experience of listening to music or answering a call simple and easy.

Now if I talk about the performance, though these earbuds do not arrive with an ANC feature the listening experience was quite great. The sound clarity was amazing and with the 16 EQ modes, I was also able to explore various listening options. Also, the thing I really liked about these earbuds is no matter how loud I listened to music, the sound stayed clear and didn’t get noisy or fuzzy. It supports various touch sensors but the problem I faced was that the sensors on the buds were very sensitive, as even if I touched the earbuds accidentally it led to the unintended playback, music being paused or it got replaced with another music.

The dual microphones with noise-cancelling technology helped in providing clarity during calls. When I used the earbuds during a call while being out of home the other person was able to hear my voice clearly but due to the semi-in-ear design of the earbuds the outside noise was not completely reduced which caused a bit of a problem for me listening to the other person’s voice.

The IPX8 rating of the earbuds ensured that they can withstand sweat and rain drops which means users can wear these earbuds while working out without worrying about the damage of earbuds. These earbuds weigh 4.6g each which made them feel lightweight and due to their compact design, it was easily portable and hence became a perfect companion to carry around.

Battery life

The earbuds are equipped with a 48mAh battery each while the case was equipped with a 500mAh battery. The earbuds are said to offer 6 hours of playback time while along with the case it offers 44 hours of playback time which means a total of 50 hours of playback time. It took around 2 hours to charge these earbuds along with the case using the USB Type-C cable. Well at this affordable price range, the battery life of these earbuds surely impressed me.

Verdict

Looking at the overall features, design, and specifications of TOZO Tonal Fits I finally concluded that if you are looking for affordable earbuds that deliver good sound quality, a comfortable fit, and a long-lasting battery then the TOZO Tonal Fits is worth checking out. The 16 preset EQ modes on the TOZO app made listening to music bliss whether it was a symphony song or a pop song. Yes, the semi-in-ear design as mentioned above does cause less noise reduction but other than that there was not any major issue that I faced with these earbuds. Based on my experience, I would rate these earbuds 8 out of 10.

TOZO Tonal Fits is available for purchase on the company’s official website.

Based on the overall specifications of the two smartphones, the previous OnePlus 11R device has turned out to be the better smartphone device.

Firstly, the OnePlus 11R has a better and faster performing Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset when compared to the Exynos 1480 processor on the Galaxy A55. A larger 6.74″ Fluid AMOLED display screen supporting a higher resolution of 1240 x 2772 pixels is also an advantage of the OnePlus 11R device.

However, when it comes to the cameras, both the devices have 50MP triple rear camera units, but the Galaxy A55 has better 12MP ultrawide and 5MP macro lenses. On the other hand, the OnePlus 11R occupies 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro camera sensors at the rear. The selfie camera of the Galaxy A55 is also the best and it is a 32MP front-facing camera. The OnePlus 11R only has a 16MP front camera.

Regarding the battery specs, the OnePlus 11R beats the Galaxy A55 in terms of the fast charging capability with a 100W wired fast charging feature, while the Galaxy A55 supports only a 25W wired charging spec. Do note, that the two are backed by the same 5000 mAh capacity batteries.

So as mentioned, the OnePlus 11R is indeed the better smartphone when it comes to the overall specifications. But, if the user prefers a good camera phone, the Galaxy A55 would have to be considered.

Announced earlier this month, the Honor X9b enters the Indian market with a bold proposition: a stylish flip phone with a tough build and long battery life. Promising a snappy processor, a decent camera system, and an impressive design, it offers some unique features that users will not find in other phones in its price segment. In this review, we’ll thoroughly evaluate if the Honor X9b delivers on its promise and how it stacks up against competitors.

Honor X9b

Honor X9b review: Study build, impressive display

The Honor X9b boasts a splash-resistant build (IP53-rated) with a slim 7.98mm profile and a weight of 185 grams. It features elegantly curved edges on both the front and back. While the Midnight Black variant’s polycarbonate shell can feel a bit slippery, the Sunshine Orange option offers superior grip thanks to its vegan leather back.

Honor touts the X9b as the first smartphone with a five-star drop resistance certification from Switzerland’s SGS. It features a unique “Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop Display” with double-strengthened glass and shock-absorbing materials, designed to withstand drops of up to 1.5 meters. I’ve purposely tested this claim by dropping the phone screen down on hard surfaces like marble and cement, and impressively, the screen remains functional with no need for a tempered glass protector.

Honor X9b

While the Honor X9b doesn’t include a charger in the box, first-time buyers will receive a complimentary 30W charger. The retail box also contains a transparent case, a USB-C to USB-A cable, wired earphones, a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter, necessary documents, and a SIM pin.

The Honor X9b offers a gorgeous 6.78-inch curved-edge AMOLED screen with an impressive 1.5K resolution—a rarity in its price range. While it lacks HDR and Dolby Vision support, it handles streaming content from Netflix and Prime Video smoothly. The screen offers a high refresh rate of 120Hz and 1920PWM dimming, along with features designed to reduce eye strain and harmful blue light emissions. However, the audio output through the single bottom-firing speaker is merely satisfactory; a top speaker for a true stereo setup would have been a welcome addition. For security, the device is equipped with an under-display fingerprint scanner, which works flawlessly.

Honor X9b review: Performance

The Honor X9b is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, making the Realme 12 Pro its direct market competitor. This chip handles everyday tasks smoothly and can even manage games with medium graphic settings. I didn’t experience any significant overheating issues during my usage. The haptics offered on the device is good enough for navigation and typing, but not for gaming.

The X9b comes in a single configuration with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It also features 8GB of virtual RAM (which expands RAM capacity by using storage space), but unfortunately lacks a microSD card slot for expandable storage.

Honor X9b

While some Samsung phones feature 6,000mAh batteries, few brands offer such large battery capacities. The Honor X9b distinguishes itself in the Indian market with its substantial 5,800mAh battery. Supporting up to 35W fast charging, it reaches a full charge in around 2 hours. Impressively, this battery provides over two days of typical usage, setting the X9b apart from its competitors.

While the Honor X9b would ideally have launched with Android 14, it currently runs Android 13 with Magic OS 7.2. Thankfully, Honor has committed to two years of Android OS upgrades and three years of security updates, ensuring the device stays current. The software experience is streamlined, avoiding excessive bloatware and focusing on useful Honor productivity apps. While it lacks a traditional app drawer, this design choice might appeal to users seeking a simplified interface. The Magic OS 7.2 offers handy productivity features, such as multi-screen collaboration with other connected Honor devices. In addition, the device ships with the Microsoft SwiftKey keyboard. One of its major highlights is that it is equipped with the Copilot-powered Editor feature, which allows users to get AI-generated text. Here is a look at how the X9b performs on benchmarking apps.

Honor X9b review: Photography

The Honor X9b features a triple rear camera setup housed in an eye-catching circular module with luxurious gold accents. This includes a 108-megapixel main camera (likely a Samsung sensor), a 5-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. For selfies, the device sports a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. While Honor hasn’t disclosed the specific models of the other sensors, their origins could potentially be traced to other common smartphone camera suppliers.

The Honor X9b’s primary camera excels in daylight, delivering realistic colours, crisp details, and a well-balanced dynamic range without HDR issues. Performance decreases in low-light or indoor scenarios, with increased noise and occasional overexposure.

The 108-megapixel camera offers decent 3x in-sensor zoom, though the lack of OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) becomes evident when zooming in. Portrait mode performs well for both people and objects, offering good subject detection and background blur, but you might need a few tries for the perfect shot. The 5-megapixel ultrawide camera produces less consistent results than the main camera but delivers acceptable shots in good lighting. The 2-megapixel macro camera is underwhelming, while the 16-megapixel front camera suffices for selfies, portraits, and video calls in well-lit environments.

Honor X9b price in India

Honor X9b Sunshine Orange

The Honor X9b is currently listed for Rs 25,999 on Amazon. It can also be purchased through Explore Honor (official website) and offline stores. Including the bank offer, the X9b can be purchased for as low as Rs 22,999 on Amazon. In addition, users can also benefit from up to Rs 5,000 off on exchange.

Honor X9b review: Verdict

The Honor X9b boasts several strengths: an attractive design, a durable display, snappy performance, a feature-rich OS, and exceptional battery life. While its primary camera is decent, it faces strong competition from the Redmi Note 13 Pro, Poco X6 Pro, and Realme 12 Pro. However, the Honor X9b distinguishes itself with its toughened display and lightweight build, which is impressive considering its huge battery. If your priorities are durability and long-lasting usage rather than the absolute best camera and raw power, the Honor X9b is worth considering.

Comparing the two smartphones, the Motorola Edge 40 Neo is the better smartphone device based on the overall specifications.

Motorola’s Edge 40 Neo smartphone uses a faster performing MediaTek Dimensity 7030 processor and features a slighter larger 6.55″ P-OLED display with a slightly higher resolution(1080 x 2400 pixels) and faster refresh rate(144Hz). Even if the device only supports a 50MP dual rear camera unit, a 13MP ultrawide camera is also present on the device. A better 32MP selfie camera is also there. The device has an under-display fingerprint scanner too, and finally supports a faster 68W wired charging feature.

So as mentioned, these above listed reasons make the Motorola Edge 40 Neo a better smartphone device than Samsung’s Galaxy A25 5G.

As obvious as it should be, the latest Realme GT 5 Pro smartphone is revealed to be the best flagship smartphone of this comparison.

Realme’s GT 5 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s newly introduced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with a faster performance. It also has a better LTPO AMOLED display panel which has a larger display screen(6.78″), higher resolution(1264 x 2780 pixels), and a faster refresh rate(144Hz). A much better 50MP triple rear camera unit sporting a 50MP periscope telephoto and 8MP ultrawide lenses, and a better 32MP front-facing camera are also present. The Realme device also packs a larger 5400 mAh battery, and supports the same 100W wired and an additional 50W wireless charging features.

So for the final verdict, the above listed specs as mentioned do make Realme’s GT 5 Pro flagship a much better smartphone device when compared to the OnePlus 11R device.
