These PSUs raise the bar with lower connection temperature, intelligent wattage delivery, ATX 3.1 with Intel@ lab testing, and a sizeable 10-year warranty.

ASUS ROG Strix Platinum PSU Series: Features

The series features GPU’s first intelligent voltage stabilizer that enhances voltage stability by up to 45%. However, if users prefer a conventional CPU-focused voltage sensor, they can disconnect the Strix Platinum IVS cable. This series also features a GaN MOSFET that increases the power efficiency by up to 30%.

Dual ball bearings on the PSU fan feature a lifespan of up to 80,000 hours. When the PSU load is at 40% or lower with 0dB mode enabled, the fan will intelligently deactivate after achieving safe temperatures. Even when not in 0dB mode, the 1000W variant emits less than 20dB of noise making it earn an A+ Cybenetics Lambda certification.

This series also packs up 80 Plus Platinum certification and Intel lab testing which means users will always get at least 89% efficiency. It features etched modular cables that operate at up to 50 degrees Celsius below the safety limit. These cables also feature UL758 certification and meet UL1581 flame test standards. The series is equipped with an innovative CPU power cable that features a unique color scheme and special clip.

Following the launch of the Zenfone 11 Ultra early this year, ASUS has already begun the work of its successor, the Zenfone 12 Ultra. Now, the upcoming device has been spotted on the SGS certification platform. The listing on the certification platform has also revealed a charging spec of the smartphone.

ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra – SGS Certification

ASUS unveiled its Zenfone 11 Ultra smartphone in the month of March 2024 and three months later, also launched a Green color variant of the same device. Its successor, the Zenfone 12 Ultra, was spotted previously on the IMEI database with the model number – ‘ASUSAI2501H’. On the SGS certification platform, the device bears the model number – ‘ASUSAI2501xxxx’, and has been certified with the certificate number – ‘FI-61515/M1’. As mentioned, the certification platform reveals that the upcoming device, just like its predecessor, would be supporting a 65W wired fast charging feature.

Also to note, country abbreviations of Australia, Canada, China, UK, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, New Zealand, and USA have been mentioned on the certification platform, suggesting of the launch of the Zenfone 12 Ultra device in the mentioned countries. Considering the launch of the predecessor, ASUS may be planning on a launch in Q1 2025 or around the same time, and this is indicative inside the model number – ‘2501’.

Looking at previous reports, the Zenfone 11 Ultra smartphone was very similar to the ROG Phone 8, likewise, the upcoming Zenfone 12 Ultra could be a clone or may show great similarities with the specifications and design of the ROG Phone 9. Also to add, the previous Zenfone 11 Ultra and ROG Phone 8 smartphones were powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, therefore the upcoming Zenfone 12 Ultra and ROG Phone 9 would probably be arriving equipped with the next Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 flagship chipset of Qualcomm.

For the past few months, users have been reporting instability issues on Intel 13^th & 14^th Gen processors. Taking these reports into consideration, Intel started an investigation on this matter and found out that the elevated operating voltage is causing instability issues.

The company thus issued an official statement that it will be releasing a microcode patch which will address the root cause of exposure to elevated voltages. Yesterday ROG has also officially announced that the company will be rolling out new BIOS updates for Intel 13^th/14^th Gen processors starting from mid-August.

ROG is currently working with Intel to prepare a new BIOS based on the updated microcode (0X129) to address the elevated voltage issue. These BIOS updates will be released starting from next week in the global markets.

Apart from ASUS ROG, MSI will also be releasing the latest BIOS updates with 0X129 microcode to Intel 700 and 600 series motherboards and 14^th/13^th Gen Desktop PC to mitigate the instability issue. MSI will be releasing the first batch of BIOS soon in the coming weeks by the end of August.
