Recently, the Green Line Issue faced by smartphone users has kept growing in the past few years. From Motorola, Samsun, Vivo, and OnePlus to Nothing there have been reports of customers facing this rapidly increasing issue on the smartphones of these OEMs. Companies have tried to resolve this issue by either offering free replacements to the affected devices or a lifetime screen warranty.

But these are the after solutions, and many times, a user has faced the same issue twice on their device. Today a OnePlus Nord user has reported facing this issue.

The user has shared the image of the screen which shows a single green line on the display. He has also shared that the device runs on Android 12 OS and has a December 2023 security patch. On the user’s post, OnePlus Support India has replied to visit the nearest service center or book repair through the OnePlus Store app.

OnePlus has already started a lifetime screen warranty service across its affected devices in India. This service applies to any OnePlus smartphone affected by the green line, and it is not limited to selected devices.

Green Line Issue is not something that is heard first time and over the past few years the complaints regarding this issue have started increasing too. Usually a smartphone user faces this issue after an system upgrade, many smartphone brands offered a free one time screen replacement  for their devices if they are under warranty period but that was not a permanent solution for this problem for the users.

Well tipster @yogeshyaa today shared some images where Motorola G82 and Motorola G52 user was seen complaining about facing the green line issue after updating the devices.

Also since the devices were out of warranty period, the user was denied free screen replacement. Further the tipster also shared screenshots of the users who were facing the same issue on Vivo X80 and Vivo X70 Pro+ smartphones.

Vivo X80 users faced this issue without any reason while Vivo X70 Pro+ user got  this issue after installing the July 2024 update.

Green Line Issue is slowly becoming a headache for smartphone users and its high time that the brands take some actions to avoid this issue or provide a better solution to its users. Lets see whether any relief from this issue will be provided or the issue remains unresolved and the complaints keep on increasing.

London-based tech giant Nothing recently announced a new budget smartphone in the market named Nothing Phone(2a). When it was being reviewed initially by the reviewers they reported some of the issues including lag, camera issues, etc. The company did not take time to address these issues and rolled out several updates fixing a series of issues thus making user experience better than before. While these issues are usually seen initially after the launch of a phone, one that is not expected is the famous “green line issue”. This issue led OnePlus to announce a lifetime screen warranty for it, and Samsung also announced a few models while Motorola bluntly denied it to a user recently.

A user named Hrishabh Payal has shared an image on X that shows the display of a phone that the user says is Nothing Phone(2a). There is a thin green line issue on the display that is easily observable. The phone’s About Phone section confirms the smartphone model and also shows that it is up to date with the latest Nothing 2.5.5a update installed. In case this is an issue accompanied by the update more users should have reported about it after the rollout of an update though not many such issues have yet come out, if happened. We found the post by one of the Nothing Phone(2a) users on the Nothing Community forum. He wrote that he found a green line issue on the lock screen but it did not appear to him after the smartphone was unlocked. Another user who came across the same issue wrote that when he disabled the fingerprint scanner, he did not see such lines on the lock screen. The company has not come forth to say anything about it though we think these reports are far from the threshold to be addressed on a mass level for now.
