This year, we saw Xiaomi introducing the Redmi Pad SE 8.7″(Redmi Pad SE 4G in India) tablet and it seems a new Redmi-branded small-sized tablet may also be launched soon by the brand. Some of its possible specs have also been revealed.

Here’s more about the update.

New Redmi Small-Sized Tablet in Works?

This update comes from the Chinese tipster Smart Pikachu and via his Weibo post, he has revealed that a new Redmi tablet is under works by Xiaomi, and this device would possibly be featuring a small form factor design, small flat display screen, MediaTek’s Dimensity processor, and have better battery efficiency.

While nothing else has been shared, including the moniker of this upcoming device, the tipster has used the hashtag – ‘#Redmi K80’. This could mean that this Redmi-branded small-sized tablet maybe launched alongside the Redmi K80 series smartphones, however, this is just an assumption and we may have to wait until more updates arrive.

Redmi - New Small Tablet Coming - Smart Pikachu - Weibo Post

Speaking of the Redmi K80 series, it is said to include two devices – Redmi K80 and Redmi K80 Pro, and both these sub-flagship devices are expected to make their debut next month in November 2024 in the Chinese market ahead of all other sub-flagship devices from other brands with competitive price points. The vanilla Redmi K80 is said to come equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, whereas the Redmi K80 Pro smartphone will probably be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. Unlike the previous Redmi K-series devices which were all China exclusives, the new Redmi K80 series sub-flagships are revealed to come to global markets too as per reports.

While recent reports suggested to the price hike in the next Redmi K80 series models, a new update from a tipster on the Weibo platform has revealed that the Redmi K80 series devices might be surprising customers with their competitive pricing. In related news, the tipster has again shared some of the expected specifications of the Redmi K80 series, along with few updates concerning sub-flagships of other brands.

Here’s more about it.

Redmi K80 Series – Tipped to Launch Next Month

Redmi’s K80 series this time is said to include only two models – the Redmi K80 and Redmi K80 Pro, and as per the update by tipster Smart Pikachu, the series will probably have its debut next month, in November 2024. His post also reads that instead of Realme, this time the Redmi-branded sub-flagships may arrive first to the market, and will be offered at competitive prices. He also adds that the price of the standard K80 model will surprise consumers, and the Redmi K80 Pro device will be featuring a pure straight screen.

Following the above update, Smart Pikachu revealed that more sub-flagship devices will be having their launch in the months of November and December 2024. Additionally, he again points out that the Redmi K80 smartphone that is expected to come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and 2K-resolution OLED display is likely going to be a price killer, meaning it will be offered at a lower price when compared with its competitors. The device is revealed to compete with the OnePlus Ace 5, Realme GT Neo 7, and iQOO Neo 10 that are tipped with 1.5K OLED display screens and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.

The Redmi K80 Pro that is to compete with OnePlus Ace 5 Pro and iQOO Neo 10 Pro is said to have the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, and support ultrasonic in-display fingerprint reader and wireless charging. More Upcoming Sub-Flagship - Smart Pikach - Weibo Post

The model numbers and codenames of the Redmi K80 and Redmi K80 Pro devices were also recently shared and it was understood that unlike previous Redmi K-series devices that were China-exclusives, the upcoming Redmi K80 series smartphones may arrive in the global market as well.

Stay tuned for more updates.

Based on some of the listed specs, this is again evident.

The POCO Smart Pen Stylus comes in White color and has a length of 15.7 cm. Its diameter is 0.926 cm and weighs 12.7 gm. The device is suitable for capacitive touch screens. Xiaomi 15 - Rear Panel

With Xiaomi 15 series launch approaching, as always, reports and updates of the upcoming devices are being shared. Following the update on the ceramic camera module and the render images in three colors of the Xiaomi 15 Pro, an image of the vanilla Xiaomi 15 model has been shared now. The concept design image of the smartphone reveals its rear and right sight panel, pointing to certain design aspects.

Here’s more about it.

Xiaomi 15 – Newly Shared Concept Design Image

Speaking about the newly shared concept design image, it somewhat aligns with the render images of the Xiaomi 15 Pro, but with certain changes. With respect to the Xiaomi 15 Pro renders, the concept design image also portrays the Xiaomi 15 smartphone with a flat rear panel, flat side panel, rounded corners, LED flash outside the camera module at its right side, and with a square-shaped round-edged camera module. The Xiaomi branding is at the lower-left corner of the rear panel, and antenna lines can be spotted on the sides. The volume rocker and power button are on the right side panel.

Regarding the design changes, the concept design image of the Xiaomi 15 has only three circular elements inside the camera module instead of the four that we saw earlier in the Xiaomi 15 Pro renders. Each of the three carries a camera, among which, the bottom-left one is a periscope telephoto lens. The two sensor points that were present inside the fourth circular unit of the pro model are placed freely at the bottom-right corner of the camera module in the vanilla 15 smartphone. From the center, the Leica branding has also been brought to the bottom-right area above the sensor points in Xiaomi 15’s concept design image.

Xiaomi’s 15 series is scheduled to launch this month on the 23rd of October 2024, and two smartphones – the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro will be unveiled in the series. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra, another expected smartphone of the series, will only be launched at a later date, probably in January or February 2025. So far, the brand has confirmed that its two soon-to-be-released Xiaomi 15 series devices will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and will have the HyperOS 2.0 custom skin out of the box.

Recently, information regarding the model numbers, codename, and the global availability of Redmi K80 series were shared online and now, a Chinese tipster on the Weibo platform has tipped a possible increase in price for two of the Redmi K80 series devices that are expected to be unveiled soon.

Here’s more about the update.

Redmi K80 and K80 Pro Smartphones Price Expected to Increase

This update comes from the tipster – Digital Chat Station, and he has shared via a Weibo post that in order to control the traffic (probably meaning sales), Xiaomi will bring a possible price hike to its Redmi K80 series devices. He also adds that the Pro model’s price may drastically increase as well, and this was previously pointed out by this same tipster four months back.

Coming to few of the other recent updates, via a XiaomiTime article, it is now being said that the Redmi K80 series will probably only have two models this time and they may be made available in the global market too. For those of you who don’t know, Xiaomi’s Redmi K series has always remained exclusive to the Chinese market and rebranded versions of the smartphones that came in the POCO F series were released to global customers. Also, a previous report has also suggested that the Redmi K80 series would likely not have an ‘e’ model this time and the respective model may be brought to Redmi Note 14 series. Just to add, the Redmi K70 series was launched back in November 2023 with the K70, K70e, and K70 Pro models, and the K70 Ultra smartphone joined the series later in July 2024.

About the revealed model numbers, codenames, and expected processors, as per recent reports, the Redmi K80 device is said to have the model numbers 24122RKC7G (Global) & 24122RKC7C (China) with the codename ‘Zorn’. The K80 Pro is revealed to bear model numbers 24117RK2CG (Global) & 24117RK2CC (China), and have the codename – ‘Miro’ (previously ‘Miro’ was believed to be the K80 codename). Redmi K80 Pro is also expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship processorSM8750 (likely Snapdragon 8 Elite), while the K80 may have the previous Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip (SM8650).

Just to add, there is also a third smartphone codenamed ‘Rodin’ and that is probably coming to global and Indian markets with the Dimensity 8400 processor. Another Redmi K80 series device codenamed ‘Dali’ has also been spotted, however, this device is likely to be cancelled according to reports.

In related news, the Redmi K80 Pro is revealed to have a 6000 mAh battery backup and 100W fast charge support. A flat 2K OLED 120Hz display and 50MP 3X optical zoom camera are other expected specs. A Redmi official had also stated that this time’s K80 series smartphones have been greatly upgraded and he hinted at a launch before the end of this year, probably in November or December 2024.

The Indian variant of Xiaomi’s latest and upcoming tablet device, the Xiaomi Pad 7, has made it to the BIS certification platform. The Indian launch of the tablet has thus been confirmed and the launch in India is expected to take place early next year.

Here’s more about it.

Xiaomi Pad 7 – BIS Certification

The Xiaomi Pad 7 tablet Indian variant has appeared on the BIS certification platform with the model number – ‘2410CRP4CI’, and has received the inclusion or grant on the BIS database on the 13th of September 2024. Nothing in particular about the upcoming tablet has been mentioned on the database, however, it is said that the Indian launch would likely take place in the first quarter of 2025 (even if the model number – ‘2410’ suggests a possible launch in October 2024).

Xiaomi Pad 7 Spotted on Indian BIS

Looking at previous updates, the Xiaomi Pad 7 was said to carry the model number – 24091RPADG, with which, it was spotted on Singapore’s IMDA and the European EEC certification platforms. However, it should also be noted that reports have pointed out that the Xiaomi tablet with model number 2410CRP4CG is the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro, leading to certain confusion as the model number is similar to the now BIS-listed Xiaomi Pad 7 Indian variant.

Coming to some expected specs of the Xiaomi Pad 7 tablet, the Chinese 3C certification has revealed the device to come with a 45W charger. It may also be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. It is also being said to have the Xiaomi HyperOS custom skin based on the Android 14 operating system out of the box, with three years of promised Android OS upgrades and four years of security patch updates.

Just to add, Xiaomi this month, on the 23rd of October 2024, will be unveiling its 15 series flagships, which include the vanilla 15 and the 15 Pro models, and the devices are to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and run on the latest HyperOS 2.0 custom skin.

The Chinese smartphone maker, Xiaomi, will soon be unveiling its 15 series devices comprising of the vanilla 15 and 15 Pro models in its home market in China this month, and as the official launch date nears, a new update from a tipster on the Twitter/X platform has revealed a camera spec of the pro model. Along with this, what seems to be the render images of the Xiaomi 15 Pro has also been shared online.

Here’s more about it.

Xiaomi 15 Pro – Ceramic Camera Module and Expected Render Images

This update comes from the tipster Kartikey Singh who has shared via his Twitter/X handle that the upcoming Xiaomi 15 Pro smartphone is likely to have a camera module made out of ceramic material. While nothing more has been added by him, this might increase the premium look of the flagship and may not aid in any sort of camera performance improvements.

Xiaomi 15 Pro - Camera Unit

In related news, the same tipster (in collaboration with Smartprix) has shared the possible render images of the Xiaomi 15 Pro smartphone. We had previously already come across the concept renders of the smartphone late last month, however, the now available render images point out that the upcoming device would look more like its predecessor.

The render images showcase the smartphone in three different colors – Grey, Black, and White, and the Leica-branded camera module appears to be square in shape with round edges. There are four circular units within with three of them carrying camera lenses. One of them is notably a periscope telephoto lens. Also to note, the LED flash unit is placed outside the camera module, on the right side. Other design elements are the Xiaomi branding at the lower left side of the rear panel, and the power button and volume rocker at the right side panel.
