It is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC paired with 8GB RAM and 128/256GB storage. It runs on OneUI 6.1 based on Android 14. The smartphone packs up a 50MP main camera, 5MP ultra-wide camera, and 2MP macro camera on the rear side while it features a 13MP selfie camera.

It is backed by a 5000mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging. Other features include- a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, hybrid dual SIM, USB Type-C, IP54 rating, Bluetooth 5.2, dual-band WiFi, 6 OS upgrades and 6 Android OS updates, and NFC support.

It comes in three color options- gold, light green, and Blue Black. It will be available for purchase via Samsung.com, Amazon, Flipkart, and other retail platforms.

Yes, Indian customers will be able to get the device in 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB storage options, and Light Green, Blue Black, and Gold color choices. The availability of the smartphone hasn’t yet been revealed by the brand, however, it will be ‘coming soon’. Samsung recently unveiled its latest Galaxy A16 5G smartphone in global markets and now after the 5G variant, 4G variant is said to make its way into the smartphone industry. Tipster @Sudhanshu1414 has today shared the renders, specs and pricing details of this 4G device on the X platform.

The device is revealed to arrive in Black, Green, Gray, and Yellow color options. The rear and front design of the 4G variant is similar to the 5G variant that was recently unveiled globally. It is 7.9mm thick while there is a bump on the right side that features power and volume buttons and the left side of the device features a SIM tray.

The smartphone is said to feature a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display that offers 1080×2340 screen resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and 800 nits brightness. It can be powered by MediaTek Helio G99 SoC. It is said to pack up a 50MP main camera, 5MP ultrawide camera, and 2MP macro camera on the rear panel while on the front it may feature a 13MP selfie camera.

It could be backed by a 5000 mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging. It may run on Android 14 OS. It is said to measure 164.4×77.9×7.9mm and weighs 200g. Other features expected are- a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, mono speaker, IP54 rating, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.3, USB 2.0 slot, hybrid slot (SIM 1+ SIM 2/ Memory card), accelerometer, and virtual proximity sensor.

As per the tipster, the 4/128GB variant of this device will be priced at EUR 199.

It is currently listed with a 4GB/128GB storage option, with an expandable storage support of up to 1TB. The device runs on the Android 14-based One UI 6.1, and just like we had exclusively revealed, the brand has promised 6 years of Android OS updates and 6 years of security patch updates.

For its display, the smartphone features a Super AMOLED display with the expected 6.7″ screen size, 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and 800 nits HBM. Regarding the color variants and price, along with the Light Green/Turquoise, Blue Black/Midnight Black, and Gold color choices that we have revealed, it will also come in a Light Grey (appears like White) color as well. However, the Gold color choice hasn’t been listed on the two websites’ purchase pages. In France, the 4GB/128GB model has been priced EUR 249, while in Netherlands, it has been listed for ANG 229.

Also to add, in the Indian market, the Galaxy A16 5G has been tipped to launch in the mid-half of October 2024 according to our exclusive report. One more thing to note, Indian customers will be offered the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 model of the smartphone. The device will also feature an FHD+ Infinity U-display with a screen size of 6.7″, a refresh rate of 90Hz, and a brightness rate of 800 nits. A wired fast charge support of 25W, a USB type-C port, and an IP54-rated body are other revealed specs. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy A16 5G has appeared on the SIRIM database with model number – ‘SM-A166P/DS’, and it has been certified with type approval code – ‘RGQL/66H/1024/S(24-4489)’. It has been categorized under the mobile phone section and the moniker has been mentioned. The certification validity will be till the 1st of October 2025.

Previously, the Galaxy A16 5G with the same model number of ‘SM-A166P/DS’ was spotted on the Geekbench database. It had also appeared on the TUV Rheinland certification platform, however, with different model numbers of ‘SM-A166B/DS’, ‘SM-A1660’, ‘SM-A166E/DS’, ‘SM-A166M/DS’, and ‘SM-A166M’.

Coming to our exclusive report, it was understood that Samsung plans to retain its same or similar design language for the Galaxy A16 5G as always, and it will arrive in color choices of Light Green, Blue Black, and Gold. The device will have two processor variants, one with the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor and the other with the brand’s own Exynos 1330 processor. In the Indian market, users can expect the Dimensity 6300 variant. Other revealed key specs include a 6.7″ Infinity U-display with FHD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate and 800 nits brightness, a USB type-C port, and an IP54-rated body. Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy S24 FE globally, confirming many of the specifications previously spotted on the Google Play Console. Not just the Galaxy S24 FE has been launched, but the Galaxy Tab S10 Series has also been launched which we have covered in another article.

Specifications

The Galaxy S24 FE features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and Vision Booster technology. Powering the device is the Exynos 2400e (4nm) processor, paired with 8GB of RAM. The rear has a 12MP ultra-wide camera with an F2.2 aperture and 123˚ field of view, a 50MP wide camera with OIS and an F1.8 aperture, and an 8MP telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom. For selfies, there’s a 10MP front camera with an F2.4 aperture.

Galaxy S24 FE houses a 4,700 mAh battery, supporting fast wired charging that can reach up to 50% in around 30 minutes with a 25W adapter. It also supports 15W fast wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare. Running on Android 14 with One UI 6.1, the S24 FE includes various security features such as Samsung Knox, Knox Vault, and Knox Matrix. The phone boasts an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

Samsung has announced that the Galaxy S24 FE will receive seven OS upgrades and seven years of security patches. This software support policy may be a focus point for consumers considering long-term device use. In a previous report, we exclusively revealed that the Samsung Galaxy A16 is also set to offer the 6 OS upgrade and security patch update policy. This approach indicates that Samsung is applying a consistent software support strategy across different product lines.

Connectivity options include 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Wi-Fi Direct, and Bluetooth v5.3. The device measures 77.3 x 162.0 x 8.0mm and weighs 213g, although the weight may vary by market.

Pricing and Availability

The Galaxy S24 FE will be available for order starting 3rd October. It comes with 8GB of RAM and three storage options: 128GB priced at $649 (approximately Rs 54,300) and 256GB for $709 (approximately Rs 59,300). A 512GB variant is also available but limited to certain regions.

The device is currently available in the US market. While Samsung has not made an official announcement, industry sources suggest that the Galaxy S24 FE may soon be released in the Indian market as well.

Colour options include Blue, Graphite, Gray, Mint, and Yellow. However, availability of colours and storage variants may vary by market.

This launch confirms many of the specifications we previously reported when the device was spotted on the Google Play Console, validating the accuracy of that earlier listing.

Tipster @tarunvats33 has shared the message of a Samsung moderator on X platform which mentions that the company has confirmed this problem and apologized for the same. It is also revealed that Samsung will prepare a fix for this problem as soon as possible and will notify about it. This means Galaxy S23 Ultra users will soon receive an update or patch that will take care of this bug.
