Vivo Officially Reveals its BlueOS 2 Features in China; The BlueOS 2 Innovation Competition Announced

Vivo, the Chinese consumer electronics maker, will soon be unveiling its latest X200 series flagships and amidst this, the brand has shared via its official Weibo handle some of the key features of the BlueOS 2 platform. Also, the brand has officially announced the BlueOS 2 Innovation Competition too.

BlueOS 2 – Revealed Features and Innovation Competition

As per the poster image shared via the brand’s official Twitter handle, BlueOS 2 is Vivo’s fully self developed platform designed for AI. It is a real time operating system kernel written in Rust language, and the brand promises dual security and better performance on it. Multi-chip architecture, system scheduling, memory management, file system, device management, POSIX compliant, and minimalist asynchronous runtime are some of its noted specs. The Blue River Smart Exploration and the deep integration of Blue Heart Intelligence are again two other features that have been pointed out.

For a better smart experience on smartwatches, the platform also introduces features like Voice Q&A, athletic trainer, AIGC dial, and AI shorthand. Blue River Studio – with the Blue Heart Coding Assistant, Blue River SDK – with 12 types of open capabilities to enable comprehensive application development, and Blue River UI Framework – to make apps support flicker-free screen size devices, are also present in BlueOS 2 for efficient development.

Finally, as mentioned, Vivo has also announced the BlueOS 2 Innovation Competition with a prize pool of up to 1 million. Everyone is invited to participate in this competition and create the best Rust language competition in the industry.

In related news, Vivo will be launching its X200 series devices consisting of the X200, X200 Pro, and X200 Pro mini models soon, on the coming 14th of October 2024. The upcoming smartphones will be the first OriginOS 5 and MediaTek Dimensity 9400 devices in the world.
