Euclid, ESA and NASA’s collaborative mission to study dark matter and dark energy presented the first five mesmerizing science images of the cosmos today
The Euclid mission, led by the European Space Agency (ESA) with NASA contributions, which was launched on 1 July 2023 presented new significant updates on Tuesday. Latest reports stated that the Euclid mission released the first five science images on Tuesday, 7 November, 2023.

The five images presented by the Euclid mission on Tuesday consist of the following: A large cluster of thousands of faraway galaxies, close-ups of two nearby galaxies, a gravitationally bound group of stars which is known as a globular cluster, and a nebula. The presented images were mesmerizing high-definition visuals in vibrant colors.
The Euclid Mission: For the unversed, the aim of the Euclid mission is to investigate the mysteries of dark matter and dark energy. The Euclid Mission Observatory will commence its regular science operations in early 2024.
The mission was launched on 1 July 2023, from Cape Canaveral, Florida. It traversed about 1 million miles to reach its observatory point.
The space telescope underwent some commissioning in its latest operations and is currently performing as expected.
The Euclid mission is a six-year planned mission. The goal of the mission is to create the most extensive 3D map of the universe that humanity has ever seen. The mission aims to cover one-third of the sky to up to billions of galaxies existing 10 billion light-years away from Earth.
