Premise: The series is set amidst the Indian Independence movement against the British Raj in the 1940s. Heeramandi revolves around the lives of tawaifs residing in the red-light district of Heera Mandi in Lahore. Mallikajaan, who rules over an elite house of courtesans has her reign threatened by a new rival amidst the rebellion that is brewing in British-ruled India.
Cast: The series features Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal, Richa Chadha, and Sanjeeda Sheikh in major roles. The series also features Farida Jalal, Indresh Malik, Shekhar Suman, Fardeen Khan, Taaha Shah, Shruti Sharma, and others in recurring roles.
Bhansali Productions is the production company for the series. The Executive Producers for the series are Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Prerna Singh.
