VDAI has received a notification from the UAB Revolut Bank about a data breach of its personal data. The bank has conducted an investigation on its own to find out if there was a violation of the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation or not.

Accordingly, by the investigation, it was found that access to Revolut’s database was gained through using some social engineering methods. On notice, the security team of the bank immediately tried to remove the attacker’s access from hacking the customer’s data and stop the cyberattack. However, before that, the data such as names, addresses, and e-mails of around 50,150 customers globally were affected during the attack. Around 379 Lithuanians were also affected.

Currently, the company is investigating more deep into this cyber incident. The company has also stated that it is contacting customers whose sensitive data was breached. The company has alerted the customers and has said that it will not call or send any SMS or messages or ask for login data due to the incident, so as to lessen future cyber attempts. Also, the VDAI has urged the public to be alert and attentive to these cyber fraudsters.

According to a recent post by Cyber Know and We Leak Database An AWS misconfiguration has led to the leak of around 3.5 TB data of from the Indian university and local government. The claims further state that institutions like Banaras Hindu University, Board of Practical Training (ER) under Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, Jamia Millia Islamia (Central University), Aliah University, Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission ( TNPSC) Government of Tamil Nadu and Hemchand Yadav Vishwavidyalaya Durg CG.

The Twitter handle also published a list of documents and the list of students. They also published the database username and password on their social media platform. We tried to reach out to BHU but weren’t able to receive any reply at the time of framing the article.

According to the claims, sensitive documents, emails, env, source code, and many more were exposed publicly. The targeted organizations include Bhupro, Board of Practical Training ( BOPTkolkata), Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission, JMI University, Hemchand Yadav Vishwavidyalaya University, and the Aliah University which is the university in West Bengal.

Misconfigurations are one of the most crucial risks to cloud environments, causing around 65 to 70 percent of all the security challenges in the cloud. Accordingly, the cloud comprises a lot of settings, policies, assets, and services which makes it a worldly environment to fully understand and properly set up. This is very true for those organizations that urgently migrated to the cloud to execute remote work. Unfortunately, when organizations start using any new technology too quickly without fully understanding it causes misconfigurations. Eventually, this led to the data breach of such organizations.

The Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk posted an image on Twitter captioning, “ehh, good enough”, and attributed to Mediocrates. Elon says that on a joke, if one says that it’s average and be like ‘yeah that is goodenough’, then those people are mediocre. So he has given them a name of mediocrates.

However, mediocrates is not a real person. As per the Urban Dictionary, Mediocrates is someone of average, or have below-average intelligence and skills, but claims to be an expert. A person who is not very good at something or not very good at anything in particular, but shows that he is an expert. These people are just mediocrities. Quite good, or not very good.

Elon Musk is mostly known on Twitter for his cryptic tweets. This isn’t the first time that someone has posted such tweet. In 2021, a Twitter profile called Dad Jokes too, posted “What do you call your average ancient Greek? Mediocrates.”

If you want to continue getting subsidy on your electricity consumption in Delhi, register yourself with the power distribution company just by giving a missed call or sending a WhatsApp message to the mobile number released by the Delhi government.

Also, if you are unable to follow the tech-savvy methods, you can use the writing method too. Just express your interest in the subsidy in writing, and then your next electricity bill will come with a physical form which you can fill up and submit at the nearest electricity office. Just repeat this submission every year to continue your subsidy benefits.

The Delhi residents will have to opt-in for the power subsidy from October 1. Accordingly, the government has already opened the applications of the subsidies along with a helpline number for the residents to avail the benefits. All the electricity users are offered a subsidy, however, they will have to apply for it before September 30.

Accordingly, this scheme is valid for one year and the users can get it renewed every year. Every Delhi residents will get a form along with their electricity bill in the September month, which the users will have to fill if they want to avail the subsidy benefits on electricity. For example, if you apply in September, you will get subsidy from October. Similarly, if you apply in October, you will get subsidy in November.

Also, the state government has apparently, organised the awareness camps in each district to make the subsidy instructions clear to the public.

Currently, those whose power consumption is less than 200 units, do not have to pay any electricity charges in Delhi. However, those who consume around 400 units get a 50% subsidy of up to Rs 800. The Delhi government has also made compulsory for the people to opt in for the subsidy to continue getting the benefits.

Now, the main question which arises is how to avail a power subsidy in Delhi?

See step-by-step guide here:

  1. Firstly, the users will have to give a missed call on 7011311111.
  2. After calling, you will get a form on your registered email ID.
  3. Just fill out the form and send it. You will get the subsidy in the next month’s electricity bill for online bills.
  4. Also, the users will receive a hyperlink with their e-bill
  5. Just click on the link and fill in the details and then click on ‘Submit’.

And for offline bills,

  1. With every bill, the users will receive a consent form.
  2. Fill in your mobile number and voter ID number and then sign the form.
  3. Afterwards, at your nearest billing centre, visit the subsidy counter and submit the filled form.

The users are advised to submit the forms before the last date of a month to avail the benefits of the subsidy in the next month.

Also, if any consumer misses the filling out the consent form in the next two months, they can apply for a subsidy in the month of October. Consequently, the form has to be filled out before the next billing cycle by the users.

Accordingly, the purpose of launching this scheme is to offer the subsidy for electricity to the households, willing to avail it. The underprivileged or poor households, who have suffered a lot of financial problems can be helped by the electricity subsidy scheme from power department. Due to the inflation and the pandemic situation, the citizens have suffered a lot, financially. And to raise the financial situation in the state, the Delhi government has made this huge decision for the benefit of the citizens.

The security researchers of the Necrum Security Labs have spotted the vulnerabilities in Flexlan FX3000 and the FX2000 series wireless LAN devices which were made by the computing and systems integrator company known as Contec.

Accordingly, the Flexlan wireless LAN device vulnerabilities can permit the airplane hacking. However, the company has stated that its Flexlan wireless LAN devices are used in systems, factories, offices and in embedded devices. But the security researchers have found that Flexlan devices are often used in the airplanes for Wi-Fi access points which the passengers use to connect to the internet.

The first vulnerability, tracked as CVE-2022-36158, is related to a secret webpage which can be used to perform Linux commands on the victim’s devices. Then, the second vulnerability, CVE-2022-36159, is related to a backdoor account and usage of a poor hardcoded password. Consequently, the hackers can use such accounts to access control of the victim’s devices.

The Aircraft manufacturers have always maintained the cyber security of it’s passenger-accessible systems. However, the hackers could still hack the systems by using these vulnerabilities to hack the devices.
