Bajaj Launches World’s First CNG Motorcycle: The Freedom 125, with Dual Fuel Capability
Bajaj recently confirmed the launch of a new motorcycle and now it has finally launched the world’s first CNG motorcycle the Freedom 125 which will be available for buyers in six different colors and three different variants. It runs on both petrol and CNG which is easy to switch via a single button switch. Its three variants are Drum, Drum LED, and Disc LED, priced at Rs 95,000, Rs 1.05 Lakh, and Rs 1.10 Lakh respectively (ex-showroom, India).
The Freedom 125 is powered by a 125cc single-cylinder engine that can generate 9.5 PS of power and 9.7 Nm of torque. The company claims that it can generate 213 kilometers per kilogram of CNG. The bike comes with the longest seat in its segment which is 785mm. It has got a CNG tank under the seat that has a total capacity of 2 kg. Its combined range is said to go up to 330km.
Speaking at the launch event, CEO Rajiv Bajaj said “India can show the world how we can move away from petrol and diesel and move towards cleaner fuel.” As per the company, the booking for the motorcycle will begin today on the Bajaj Auto website and dealership.
