On comparing the overall specifications of the two devices, the more recently launched Nothing Phone (2) has turned out to be the best smartphone device of this comparison.

The Nothing Phone (2) is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and has a primary clock speed of 3.00 GHz. Motorola’s Edge 40 smartphone on the other hand is equipped with the Dimensity 8020 chipset from MediaTek with a primary clock of 2.6 GHz. Nothing’s Phone (2) will thus be able to offer a better performance than the Motorola smartphone.

For its display, the Phone (2) from Nothing has a larger 6.7″ LTPO OLED display, while the Motorola smartphone features a 6.55″ P-OLED display. However, the Motorola smartphone supports the fastest refresh rate of 144Hz, compared to the 120Hz refresh rate on the Phone (2). The two devices have similar screen resolutions.

Coming to the cameras, both the smartphones sport a 50MP dual camera setup at its rear. But it is to be noted that the Nothing Phone (2) has a better 50MP ultrawide lens than the 13MP ultrawide camera offered on the Edge 40 device. Both the devices have the same 32MP front-facing cameras.

Finally, to the batteries, the Motorola Edge 40 smartphone has a 4,400 mAh battery backup, whereas the Nothing Phone (2) is backed by a larger 4,700 mAh battery. However, it should be understood that Motorola’s smartphone supports the fastest fast charge feature of 68W, rather than the 45W fast charge support that the Nothing device has. The two smartphones also support 15W wireless charging, but only the Nothing Phone (2) supports a reverse wireless charging feature.

So, as mentioned, even if the Nothing Phone (2) has a few drawbacks, based on the overall specifications, it is the best smartphone device than Motorola’s Edge 40 smartphone, with a better processor, larger display, better ultrawide lens, and a larger battery backup.
