OpenAI Currently Testing An AI Powered Search Engine Prototype- SearchGPT; Here’s All You Need To Know

OpenAI- one of the leading tech giants in the field of AI has been experimenting with this new era of technology to enhance user experience and make their work life easy and simpler. Now the company is focusing on AI-driven search engines giving direct competition to Google’s search engine.

OpenAI has officially announced that they are currently testing a temporary prototype of a new AI search engine called SearchGPT. As per the company, SearchGPT is designed to combine the strength of AI models with information from the web to give users fast and timely answers with clear and relevant sources.

SearchGPT prototype is launched for a small group of users and publishers to get feedback. This prototype is temporary, but the company is planning to integrate its best features directly into ChatGPT in the future.

How SearchGPT works?

SearchGPT will quickly and directly respond to questions asked with up to date information from the web giving clear links to relevant sources. Not only this, the users will also be able to ask follow up questions, like a conversational char, with the shared context building with each query.

This AI powered search engine is designed to help users connect with publishers by prominently citing and linking to them in searches. According to the company, the responses will include clear, in-line, named attribution and links, ensuring that users know where the information is coming from and can easily explore further results through source links in a sidebar. OpenAI has partnered with publishers, and in addition to launching SearchGPT prototype, the company is also launching a way for publishers to manage how they appear in SearchGPT.
