iOS 12.4.1 update released, Patches bug that enabled iPhone Jailbreak

Apple has at last fixed an “unpatched” bug in the most recent iOS update that had surrendered its most up-to-date iPhones helpless against hacking risks. The new update “iOS 12.4.1” comes with a fix for weakness wherein, as indicated by Apple, “malicious application may be able to execute arbitrary code with system privileges”.

“We would like to acknowledge @Pwn20wnd for their assistance,” said Apple.

A security specialist who passes by the name of “Pwn20wnd” published a jailbreak for the previous iOS 12.4 update.

Apple purportedly unpatched a bug in the most recent iOS update 12.4 that it had fixed in the previous iOS 12.3 update – leaving its gadgets defenseless against cybercriminals.

Jailbreaking an iPhone gives individuals a chance to modify their iOS gadgets and run unsupported applications. Apple never permits unsupported applications on its iOS platform, which makes its gadgets extra secure.

Because of the unpatched bug, all iPhones running iOS 12.4 could be jailbroken.

A few iPhone clients tweeted that they were successfully running the “jailbreak”.

Apple as of late reported to pay up to $1 million (roughly around Rs. 7.2 crores) to security researchers for discovering flaws and vulnerabilities as a major aspect of its bug bounty programme.

The announcement was made by Ivan Krstic, Head of security engineering and architecture at Apple, during the yearly Black Hat security conference in Las Vegas.
